Stampin’ Up!’s 2017 Holiday Catalog – My Favorite Things

Yesterday I introduced you to Stampin’ Up!’s brand new 2017 Holiday Catalog.  If you want to take a stroll through all the new suites of products, CLICK HERE.  If you just want to dive in to the electronic version of the catalog, you can see it here:

MY FAVORITE THINGS

Stampin’ Up!’s 2017 Holiday Catalog is CRAZY amazing!  What a gorgeous showcase of new products!  Stampin’ Up!’ Demonstrators have enjoyed the opportunity to play with these new items for the past month, and we’ve enjoyed sharing our new projects with you.  Now we get to share these products with you.  What fun!  Hopefully this list of my favorite things will help you to shuffle or whittle down your list – or it might inspire you to add some items you overlooked.  Either way, I’m happy to share my favorites.

In an effort to narrow down my list a bit, I’ve lumped my favorites into categories.  Some are themes, some are product lines and some are accessories.  Regardless, these are some of my favorite things in Stampin’ Up!’s 2017 Holiday Catalog.

MY FAVORITE SUITE

Merry Little Christmas

Stampin’ Up!’s very first Mega Suite is so amazing that it takes up four pages in the Holiday Catalog.  The first two (pages 10 and 11) showcase the gorgeous black-and-green mood of the suite – lots of great projects on these pages!  Then, turn the page to the amazing products that make up this two-bundle suite.  You can click on this picture to see all of the items in this suite:Merry Little Christmas Suite, Stampin' Up! 101017I love all the papers and accessories in this suite, but I really, really love the Merry Little Labels bundle – that Everyday Label Punch is a must-have, and the images in this stamp set are perfect for the holidays (and most are perfect throughout the year.  Also, I love punches.  Here’s a look at this bundle:

Bonus!  The joy of this suite isn’t limited to the four pages in this Holiday Catalog.  Labels to Love is a great, new set that covers all of the Fall Holidays (and beyond) AND coordinates with the Everyday Label Punch.  How’s that for getting a big bang for your buck?

MY FAVORITE BUNDLE

Christmas Quilt

I know that Quilted Christmas will certainly make its way to the homes of my customers who are also quilters.  Given!  What I can’t stress enough, though, is that this super-fun bundle is flexible to be used for any occasions at any time of the year.  Here’s a look at the Christmas Quilt Bundle:

Bonus! While the BIG BONUS of this bundle is that it can be used throughout the year, there are some great coordinating products you’ll want that coordinate with this set for homespun Christmas projects – found in paper and embellishments – what fun!  You’ll want to add Quilted Christmas Designer Series Paper Stack and Stitched Felt Embellishments to your Christmas Quilt order.  You’ll thank me!

Here are two cards I’ve made with this incredible bundle (neither card is particularly Christmas-y).  You can click on either picture to see the original post:

MY FAVORITE ALL-SEASON BUNDLE

Seasonal Lantern

Most of the products in this Holiday Catalog are designed for a specific holiday.  One stamp set, Seasonal Lantern, encompasses a huge variety of Fall Holidays – Christmas, Thanksgiving and Hanukkah are specifically represented here, but the set could easily be used for a spooky Halloween card or a thinking of you card.  It’s almost overwhelming to see all of the possibilities with all of these amazing pieces (but it’s great to have so many options, right?).  Here’s a look at Seasonal Lantern:

MY FAVORITE PAPER

Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper

You know how much I love Stampin’ Up!’s Designer Series Papers, right?  The designs inspire me by offering great patterns and outrageously gorgeous color combinations.  Nothing says “Autumn” to me quite like the colors in the Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper.  Such gorgeous colors in the watercolored patterns and images in this pack of paper – Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, Early Espresso and Tangerine Tango (just to name a few).  Here’s a look at this gorgeous paper:

Bonus!  The Painted Harvest Bundle is one of the first products we were introduced to from this new catalog – gorgeous watercolored flowers and leaves with several gorgeous sentiments.  I already know that the Painted Harvest Bundle is on your wish list (if it’s not already on its way to you now), so it’s a “bonus” to this gorgeous paper that should also be on your list.

MY FAVORITE HALLOWEEN SET

Creep it Real

There are lots of great Halloween-themed products in this Holiday Catalog.  There are witch hats, spooky owls, potions, spider’s webs, jack-o-lanterns and cats.  While I love Spooky Cat and have already played with several of the fun images in the set, I’m IN LOVE with the super-cute Creep it Real stamp set that’s featured on the inside of the back cover of the catalog.  How cute are these little guys?  This set is perfect for the young’uns who will be knocking on your door October 31.  Here’s a look at this fun set:

MY FAVORITE CHRISTMAS BUNDLE

Night in Bethlehem

Night in Bethlehem is one gorgeous bundle of images, sentiments and dies that you can use to make some GORGEOUS Christmas cards.  It’s Stampin’ Up!’s first Christmas Bundle with a religious theme, and it’s sure to be a huge hit this Holiday season.  Such a peaceful and beautiful bundle.  Here’s a look at Night in Bethlehem:

MY FAVORITE ACCESSORY

Cat Punch

When you first saw the Cat Punch on page 53 of the Holiday Catalog, you instinctively knew that this cat image would be perfectly usable outside of Halloween, right?  I’m proud of you for finding the versatility of these products – I like your attitude.  The punch can be purchased by itself or as a part of the Spooky Cat bundle.  Either way you get it, you want to get this punch.  Here’s a look at the Cat Punch:

Here’s a decidedly non-Halloween project I made with this cat silhouette (you can click on the picture below to read the original post about this card):

Sorry for Everything, Cat Punch, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, sympathy cardBonus!  As I mentioned above, the Cat Punch pairs with the Spooky Cat stamp set – such a fun image in that set!  The punch also pairs with the cats in the Spooky Night Designer Series Paper – you could spend an entire day punching all of those fun cats!  🙂

MY FAVORITE TIE-IN

Merry Cafe Stamp Set

If you purchased the Coffee Cafe Bundle in the Annual Catalog (if you didn’t, then you should have), then you were THRILLED to see the Merry Cafe stamp set on page 46 of the Holiday Catalog.  I love when products coordinate with other dies or punches, and this one ties-in perfectly to the bundle from the Annual Catalog.  If you didn’t pick up that bundle, get it now (and tack on the Merry Cafe stamp set):

Brian’s Bundles

Have you ever wished there was an “I Want Everything Button” for the launch of a catalog (I’m sure I could work one up for you if you need one)?  This new catalog is AMAZING, and I’m thrilled to share it with you!  To help you make the most of your 2017 Holiday Catalog purchases, I’ve created four, limited-time bundles with select bundles in the Holiday Catalog:

  • Christmas Quilt
  • Merry Little Christmas
  • Painted Harvest
  • Spooky Night

I added up products for each of these bundles (each already includes a 10% off bundle) and took off at least 10% more on each.  That’s like getting free shipping!  You’ll definitely want to review my bundles…

  1. I could have predicted that Creep It Real would be on your list! I’m being persuaded and in fact, did order it! We have lots of favorites in common – Christmas Quilt Bundle. There are so many great things to pick!

  2. This was fun ! I like a few of the same ! Thank you for sharing because it helps with my selections at times to see what others like about certain products ! There are some great SUITES this year !! Lots of versatility !!

  3. Hi Brian,
I can see the Christmas Quilt die being used as a pennant also. If you cut off the two sides on the solid die. The big open die you could probably make a basket by folding up the sides and attach some washi tape or ribbon to close the sides. You have given me inspiration to look more at my dies and stamps to see what other unique items that can be made other than what it was intended for.
    Have a wonderful weekend.

  4. I guess this is the short list because I’m thinking your favorites would be easy to guess, the entire catalog. I see a couple of my favorites on your list.
