Tags & Trimmings for CTS237

Before I share today’s card, I want to give a big, heartfelt “thank you!” to the CAS(E) This Sketch design team for selecting my card from last week’s challenge as the winner.  What fun!  If you missed that card, you can see it here.  I play along with these challenge for the inspiration, but it’s always wonderful to be recognized.  Thank you!

You can see the other cards selected by the design team here:

I loved the simplicity of last week’s sketch – I immediately know what I would make.  This week’s CAS(E) This Sketch challenge, however, gave me a little bit of a challenge – until I woke up from my Friday afternoon nap.  It sounds so luxurious, but it’s not a common thing – our office closed early on Friday to prepare for the Holiday weekend on Friday.  So…I woke up and made this card:

And here’s the banner for the challenge that inspired my card:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Tags & Trimmings.  The stamp set used on this card pairs with the Trim Your Stocking Thinlits Dies.  The dies in this set make a gorgeous stocking with a pillow box – gift-giving perfection for a gift card or sweet treat.  The stamp set offers some great images and some sentiments in a beautiful font.  I can’t tell you how much I love this font.  Here’s a look at the Tags & Trimmings bundle:

And here’s a project I shared last week with this stamp set to show how versatile it is (you can click on this picture to read the original post about this sweet bag):Seasonal Chums, Tags & Trimmings, Mini Treat Bag, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, Halloween treat bag

  • Design.  Can you see this design in my simple card?  I’m not an origamist, so I knew I wouldn’t be folding paper in a difficult (but I’m sure cool) way.  I needed something that could fan out of each side of my sentiment.  What could do that?  What could do that?  Aaah!  Holly leaves.  I stamped six of these leaves and snipped them out.  As I started laying out card, I thought it would be best to flip the layout of the card to a horizontal layout.  I glued each of the two trios of leaves together before positioning them on the card. Tags & Trimmings, Stampin' Up!, Brian King
  • Christmas Colors.  None of the Designer Series Papers in Stampin’ Up!’s 2017 Holiday Catalog feature Emerald Envy.  I love this bright, cheery color.  Although I LOVE the papers in this new catalog, I was hoping to see more Emerald Envy this year.  Doesn’t mean I can’t create the combination myself.  If you like this combination of Real Red, Emerald Envy and Whisper White, please save this: Stampin' Up! Color Inspiration: Real Red, Emerald Envy, Whisper White

Stamp Sets:  Tags & Trimmings  Papers:  Emerald Envy, Real Red, Thick Whisper White  Inks:  Emerald Envy, Archival Basic Black  Accessories:  Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies, Stampin’ Dimensionals

I hope you’ll pop over to the CAS(E) This Sketch site to see the cards by the design team members and to play along with this week’s challenge.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Brian’s Bundles

Have you ever wished there was an “I Want Everything Button” for the launch of a catalog (I’m sure I could work one up for you if you need one)?  This new catalog is AMAZING, and I’m thrilled to share it with you!  To help you make the most of your 2017 Holiday Catalog purchases, I’ve created four, limited-time bundles with select bundles in the Holiday Catalog:

  • Christmas Quilt
  • Merry Little Christmas
  • Painted Harvest
  • Spooky Night

I added up products for each of these bundles (each already includes a 10% off bundle) and took off at least 10% more on each.  That’s like getting free shipping!  You’ll definitely want to review my bundles…
