I had a lot of fun with today’s simple sketch from our FabFriday challenge. There were so many options for the four panels in the background of this sketch, but I knew exactly which paper I’d use – I reached for this diagonally striped page from Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper and went to work. 🙂 Here’s my card:
And here’s the banner for the sketch that inspired my card:
- Stop Staring! Don’t stare too much at the patterns in this paper – we don’t need anyone getting dizzy. 🙂 While the 12″ x 12″ piece of Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper is made with diagonal stripes moving in one direction, I cropped the paper to create this fun pattern. Such fun! Once the pieces came together, a new pattern was born! The large oval helps to tone-down the stripes a bit, but I love this vibrant pattern. Here’s a look a the other colors and patterns in this Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper:
- Bitty Bow. The felt bow that adorns the bottom, right edge of this oval was so easy to make! I simply pulled the bow out of the container, pealed off the adhesive backing and stuck it onto the oval. Easy! There’s no way I could have EVER tied a tiny bow like that, so it’s great that they are all tied for us – the Bitty Bows are offered in Stampin’ Up!’s 2017-2019 In Colors:
- Non-Traditional Christmas Colors. Purple is a traditionally associated with royalty and luxury – seems like that makes it a perfect color for Christmas. Since purple and green always look good together, it was easy for me to put the two together for this card. If you like this combination (for a Christmas card or any other card), please save this:
