SNEAK PEEK: Flying Home

Leaders at OnStage were treated to a special dinner and training to help us continue to build our business.ย  We also received some wonderful gifts – one of those gifts is the Flying Home stamp set from Stampin’ Up!’s 2018 Occasions Catalog.ย  The set features a collection of sweet bird houses – I colored the houses and showcased the images on a simple card. Here’s my card:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Flying Home. What an adorable set! Along with the larger images that are great for a variety of occasions, Flying Home has two butterflies, two birds and a bee that are perfect accents for your projects. So sweet! I inked up the three bird houses first – so many good things going on in this little neighborhood – and colored them with a variety of Stampin’ Blends colors. Here’s a peek at this new set:

  • In the City & Host Stamp Sets. I decided my bird houses would make a great card for a new homeowner, so I reached for the In the City stamp set, one of many great Host Sets. I used “welcome to our” from one sentiment and “neighborhood” from another. Simple! Here’s a look at the In the City photopolymer stamp set:

Over the years, Stampin’ Up! has changed the terminology associated with the benefits from large purchases and in-home workshops. Here are the terms we currently use:

    • Stampin’ Rewards. With purchases greater than $150, customers earn Stampin’ Rewards that can be used to purchase ANY current items in the current catalogs. For example, a $150 order earns a customer $15 of free merchandise (10%). This reward used to be called Host Rewards, but since the rewards are available for single purchasers (you don’t have to host a party to earn the rewards), the name was changed. YIPPEE!
    • Exclusive Host Sets. One of the perks of earning Stampin’ Rewards is that you can use them to purchase specially-priced Host Sets (that name did not change from the previous plan). Anyhoo, they are available to anyone who gathers orders that combine to $150 or to anyone who places a single order greater than $150. If you haven’t checked out these sets, please do so here.
    • Learn More.ย  If you want to learn more about Stampin’ Rewards or how to earn the Host Sets, please email me at stampwithbrian@gmail.com.ย  I’m more than happy to help you earn free product.ย  ๐Ÿ™‚
  • Stampin’ Blends. Stampin’ Up!’s new alcohol markers are incredible! While they are wonderful and easy to use for artistic blending of various shades, they can also be used to simply color images without any streaking.

I didn’t blend any of these colors – just used a variety of the shades available to me. Such fun to add these fun colors to these sweet images! I used at least one shade from each color in the collection of Stampin’ Blends on this card. • Thanks, Mary! The first thing I thought about when I saw these little houses was a “new home” card. So glad you like it – it was fun to spend time mindlessly coloring. ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Love those cheery birdhouses, Brian. Great coloring job. Enjoy your day!

  4. Gotta love any stamp set you can color! Nicely done, Brian.

  5. Adorable stamp set, and an awesome card. Brian you did it again, great job. Youโ€™re almost at expert level with the Stampinโ€™ Blends, time to do a video.

  6. Such a “tweet” card Brian! Since I collect birdhouses I am especially impressed with the way you colored them making them so bright, happy and inviting. Love this one.

  8. I wish I could hug your neck!!! This stamp set just arrived yesterday, weโ€™re in a new neighborhood under construction, with new neighbors every week, and I love birds so much their seed has their own line item in our budget. Canโ€™t get any more perfect for a CASE project. I even have the In The City sentiment stamp. Very, very cute and fabulous coloring! โค๏ธ

    • Yay! I wish you were closer – I’d accept the neck hug. ๐Ÿ™‚ You’ll have lots of fun with this stamp set, Celia! Seems like you have several “new home” cards you can make. ๐Ÿ™‚

  9. Great coloring! Thanks for the inspiration, my set comes Friday!

  10. Good morning!
What did you use to get the 2 pieces of paper on the front of the card so per-fit?

    Thanks Debbie

    • Thanks for your comment, Debbie! I use Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue vs. SNAIL. The glue gives me the ability to lightly “scooch” the paper if it’s a little off. I’m always very careful, too, when placing the paper to make sure it’s exactly where I want it. I hope that helps! <3
