When a coworker asked if I could make invitations for her daughter’s baby shower, I had to sadly decline (she needed them two days after her request). I’m a productive guy, but I wasn’t prepared to pull off that kind of a feat mid-week. I was, though, able to make a batch of thank you cards as a gift for her daughter (who is also a coworker). I love to give cards as a gift to friends and family – I think they are such a special gift. Here’s on of the cards I made:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders
- Moon Baby and a Bundle of Love. The cards I made for my friend feature images from Stampin’ Up!’s Moon Baby stamp set. I adore this trio of stuffed animals and paper-pieced them on the front of this Very Vanilla panel. I stamped the images on three colors of cardstock and on the Very Vanilla panel. I cut out the animals and glued them down on top of the Very Vanilla piece. I colored the stars with a Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Write Marker. Here’s a look at the Moon Baby stamp set:
And here’s a look at the gorgeous Bundle of Love Specialty Designer Series Paper (perfect for babies or weddings) that frames the stuffed animals a soft, sweet background:

- A Lovely Gift. Do you give your handmade projects as gifts? A collection of thank you notes shares your papercrafting hobby with friends (who don’t have to buy thank you cards) and their friends (who receive the beautiful cards). How wonderful to share! When I make a collection of cards, I like to share an infinity shot with you. How sweet is this?

- Sweet Colors for Baby. The sweet, front-and-center bunny in Soft Sky balances the blue in this card and pulls from the blue in the background paper. Wisteria Wonder and Crumb Cake are a soft, sweet accent to these colors. If you like this classic combination, please save this:

Oh, I wish your friend would have asked you to make the invitations with more time for you to work your magic, just look at the gorgeous and sweet Thank You notes you created!!!
Believe me, I’ve been in the same situation a couple of times and now, if friends and family want me to make this types of projects, I insist to have at the very least, 3 weeks notice just to be able to think of the design, get the supplies, if I need to and get to work.
Anyway my dear, this is an adorable and oh! so sweet set of Thank You notes that I’m sure the mom to be will enjoy sending out.
What a gift to have a Brian King original. š
XO
Maria.
Thanks so much for your sweet comments, Maria! I have to admit that there was less pressure to make cute thank you cards than there would have been to make invitations. This was fun to create and share. So glad you like it.
I’m in awe of this precious design and clean style!
Thanks, Mary! I had to keep it simple if I wanted to get them all done. š Glad you like it.
What a sweet card. Anyone would be thrilled to receive one of those. Your snipping of the stuffed animals is beyond compare! Yea for Paper Snips!
Thanks so much, Dianne! I’m so happy you like them. <3
This is just precious! I love the colors and it is such a sweet gift.
Thanks, Jackie! I thought these colors were really sweet together, too. I’m so happy I could share them with my coworker.
Awwww! That is undeniably adorable! I love the sweet design and I’m super impressed with your paper snip prowess! I did a fussy cutting project earlier this week (with a dragon from the new Myths and Magic DSP) and it took me 20 minutes to cut out one thing. You’ve cut out…. dozens here! Wow!
Thanks, Natalie! I was happy to pull these together – I finished them a lot faster than I thought I could. Thanks for your comments!
That’s not just productive, that’s insanely productive! You snipped out ALL THOSE STUFFIES!!! Truly a labor of love.
Thanks, Celia! So glad you like the cards! <3
Brian this is just in time for my son, who needs thank you notes for his newborn son! As always, so clean and perfect!
Thanks, Laura! It’s a quick-and-easy card to make. If I had extras, I’d send them to you. š
Brian what a darling card and what a thoughtful gift. This is one of my favorite stamp sets. Every image can be used to create a beautiful baby themed project. Iām sure both your co-workers are going to love your gift.
Thanks, Robbye! I love these little animals. So sweet. So glad you like these cards – they were certainly fun to pull together.
What’s your snipping secret Brian? You’re a big guy (like I’m telling you something you don’t know LOL) and those are tiny images and you snipped like a gazillion of them! I am so impressed I don’t even have a word to communicate it! These thank you cards are absolutely, without a doubt, much more beautiful then anything Hallmark puts on the market. I think the first person the Mom-to-be should thank is you. WOW!
So precious!
Thanks, Traci! <3
Just adorable! I love this stamp set and keep thinking I am going to get it because it is just CUTE ! Love the soft colors and the paper pieced trio of sweeties !
Thanks so much, Sonny! So glad you like it. <3
How adorable! I don’t love Wisteria, but you’ve made me want to try it in this awesome combination!
I know several people who don’t love Wisteria, but I think it’s quite lovely. I suppose it all depends on what you pair it with. These colors bring out the blue in Wisteria, which I like.
A very sweet and darling card, Brian. You are the master at paper piecing. I find snipping therapeutic, but a lot of my regulars think I’m crazy. I love coloring too, but the paper piecing you did gives these little critters just the right amount of dimension. I’m sure the new Mom will love them. What a sweet gift!
Thanks so much for your comments, Bobbi! I’m so glad you like it. I love to snip, so paper-piecing is always a great choice for me. š
Oh these sure did turn out adorable! Love them!
Thanks so much, Linda! I’m so happy you like them. What fun!
What a perfect thank you baby shower card, I never would have come up with this, I love how your creative side works!
Thanks so much, Katrina! I adore sweet-and-simple and am glad you like them. I always appreciate your kind comments.
So special & sweet, Brian! What a perfect gift!
Thanks, Sheryl! She was really excited to receive them – they were fun to make. <3
Love your colors. A perfect combination.
Thanks, Liz! I love the blue and purple combo – and Crumb Cake goes with anything. š
Brian, what a beautiful card. I love your style and your cards are always so clean and elegant. I just have to ask how you get your layers so perfect? I want to make this card exactly like yours! Would you be willing to share the measurements on the layers? Thank you Brian and as always thank you for sharing your talent.
Thank you so much for your kind words, Karen! I’m so glad you like the card – it was a fun card to make. I’m sorry, though, that I don’t have the measurements – this card is LONG gone from my house. <3 You'll enjoy making this card. <3
