A Lemon Zest Valentine’s Day Card for FabFri128

Pink and green – this week’s FabFriday color combination – gave me the inspiration to make a sweet Valentine’s Day card with some of my favorite items from Stampin’ up!’s 2017 Annual Catalog and a couple of new items from Stampin’ Up!’s 2018 Occasions Catalog. Here’s my card:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

• Lemon Zest Bundle. You know I love my punches – and the Lemon Zest Bundle is right up there with my favorites. I love the rustic look of the lemon (or, in my case, lime) and wanted to showcase it against a pop of solid color. The sentiment that accompanies the stamp set – “to my main squeeze” (get it?!?!) gave me the starting point I needed to turn this card into a Valentine’s Day card. Here’s a look at the Lemon Zest bundle:

  I stamped the lime again in Berry Burst and then used one of the oblong hearts from the Lots to Love Box Framelits Dies crop a textured heart that matches the pattern in the citrus. Here’s a look a the fun shapes in this new set of dies:

• Backdrop.  How fun is this bright, checkered paper?! While combing my papers for a bit of Lemon Lime Twist, I came across this pattern from the Tutti-fruitti 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. So bright and cheery! The other pages are filled with sweet fruits that would look great with my lime, but the color on this page worked so well with my color challenge. Here’s a look at the patterns and colors in this stack of papers:
• Pulling together a complete thought. While I really like “to my main squeeze,” I wanted a complete thought for my card. I pulled portions of other sentiments from my Lovely Inside & Out stamp set with a little help from masking – “sending” from “sending you” and “love” from “lovely.” Here’s where I grabbed all of the elements on this card:
