InKing Royalty Blog Hop – I Think I Love You

Many of my Stampin’ Up! team members (not only those with blogs) share their gorgeous projects in our team’s Facebook community – there’s such amazing and inspiring creativity in this group! I’m always excited when my team’s blog hop rolls around, though, because I get to share some of their amazing work with you. I’m just as excited to see their projects as you are, and I am proud to share them with you.

I am excited to welcome Louise Sharp, my dear friend from “down under” to today’s blog hop. Louise is a successful demonstrator and former Artisan, an amazing artistic achievement. Louise shares her work at LouiseSharp.com. She love’s pink, so she’s a shoe-in for this hop. 🙂 So glad to have Louise join us!

Also joining the Royals on our hop today – all three of my amazing uplines – Pam Morris, Mary Fish and Lisa Pretto. Yay! What a wonderful trio of talented friends!

January Blog HopWelcome to InKing Royalty’s January Blog Hop! This year’s Blog Hop themes will be inspired by popular songs – the first is “I Think I Love You.” Our Blog Hop today is jam-packed with projects that are perfect for Valentine’s Day or that showcase love. How sweet is that?! We are excited to share our love-themed creations with you today.  After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

Epic Celebrations

It’s Sale-a-Bration time – and that means there are lots of exclusive products you can earn when you shop for the products you already want. Anything better than that?! Here’s a sweet Valentine’s Day card I made with Epic Celebrations, one of the Sale-a-Bration items you can earn with a $50 purchase:

Epic Celebrations, Labeler Alphabet, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, Valentine's Day cardTips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Epic Celebrations. Epic Celebrations is the perfect stamp set for your children, grandchildren or great grandchildren – or for adults with young hearts. 🙂 I love the sentiments in this set and the casualness of the images – the Here’s a look at this fun stamp set:

I paired the shoes from this playful set with an unlikely partner – the oh-so-chic Petal Passion Designer Series Paper from Stampin’ Up!’s 2018 Occasions Catalog. This graphic page of black-and-white patterns was the perfect backdrop for my shoes. Here’s a look at the color and patterns in the Petal Passion Designer Series Paper: Petal Passion Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up!, Brian King

  • Labeler Alphabet. The Labeler Alphabet photopolymer stamp set allows us to create our very own sentiments – and it was the perfect look for this card. I love the look of this set – the letters don’t have to be perfectly aligned for a perfectly wonderful look. Here’s a look at the Labeler Alphabet stamp set:

I have two Labeler Alphabet stamp sets to make it easier for me to build the words I want to make – and I have multiple blocks on hand so I can keep letters mounted while I create. While the little letters appear to be made for the teeny-tiny “A” Clear Block (it’s noted in the catalog, too), I found that the long, thin “G” block allowed me to work with two letters on each block by positioning the letters on opposite sides and opposite ends of the block:Clear Block G with Labeler Alphabet stamp set, Stampin' Up!, Brian King

  • Cool Color Combo. Is there anything cooler than a black-and-white-and-red-all-over card? Yes! A black-and-white-and-red-and-pool-party card. 🙂 I love this combination of colors – so fun to work with. Epic Celebrations, Labeler Alphabet, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, Valentine's Day cardThe blue and black helped to calm the red you’d normally expect at Valentine’s Day. • Thanks so much, Celia! Because these letters are photopolymer, they are easy to see through the block for perfect placement. I love the set of letters, too! Thanks for your comment.

  2. This is an unexpected pairing, and I Love It!!

  3. Awesome card-love Pool and Red and perfect with the DSP. Genius sentiment!

  4. What a fun card! This is such a great idea for Tyler’s valentine this year….boyish, not too mushy and very cool! I love it! Thank you for such an amazing hop today.

  5. Modern, flashy and fun. You really rocked those sneakers!

  6. Ooh I need to add the alphabet stamp to my wish list. Sometimes it’s nice to creat your own sentiment. I love what you did with the shoe stamp!

  7. Love that background DSP, Brian, and the way you used the sneakers. You’re right about the alphabet stamp being the perfect font for this card. Great job! Have a wonderful day!

    • Thanks so much, HJ! The paper and the sneakers and the font keep things all cool and casual. Glad you see that’s what I was going for. Appreciate you comment.

  8. This is a really good “pair”! I love the red with the blue and black. Great card for a not too sentimental person.

  9. Wonderful colors! Love that DSP…..and labeler alphabet looks perfect with sneakers!

  10. What a super fun card! I love the graphic background and the color combination! And the tip using a g block for the labeler alphabet is just too smart! Your always amazing me, love ?

  11. Great card Brian, I love this stamp set, depending on the colors you use it can be for an adult or a teen. A great thing about your posts are the tips you share.

  12. Fabulous card Brian! The Labeler Alphabet Set is a “shoe-in” every time, I’m such a fan of your layering technique, and love this color combo.

  13. I love that this stamp set has both epic and awesome in it! A friend and I have a long standing debate that awesome is just as good as epic. I will be using this stamp set for his bday in Feb with epic on the outside and awesome on the inside :).

    • Thanks, Elizabeth! I’m a huge fan of the word “awesome” and use it with my team all the time. It’s a great set! I got it because of the sentiment but am glad I played with the images, too. 🙂

  14. Great blog hop, so much talent! Didn’t realize that you used DSP at first, I can’t believe how versatile the Petal Passion DSP is.

    • Right?! 🙂 I wanted black-and-white and immediately thought I would find something in that pack of papers that would “do” but this paper was exactly what I wanted. <3 Thanks!

  15. Two sets of Labeler Alphabet, eh? Hummmm, something else to add to my list.
    Great Blog Hop!

    • 🙂 It’s a great help to have two, and it’s a super-fun set. It took me a while to break it out – now I think of it all the time. <3 Thanks, Dianne!
