InKing Royalty Blog Hop – They Say It’s Your Birthday

Many of my Stampin’ Up! team members (not only those with blogs) share their gorgeous projects in our team’s Facebook community – there’s such amazing and inspiring creativity in this group! I’m always excited when my team’s blog hop rolls around, though, because I get to share some of their amazing work with you. I’m just as excited to see their projects as you are, and I am proud to share them with you.

InKing Royalty Blog Hop - They Say It's Your BirthdayWelcome to InKing Royalty’s February Blog Hop! Today’s Blog Hop today is filled to the brim with projects that celebrate birthdays. The opening line from The Beatles’ “Birthday” song ran through our heads as we joyfully created the birthday-themed creations we share with you today.  After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

Happiest Birthday

I created a sweet and sophisticated birthday card for today’s InKing Royalty Blog Hop. My card features THREE stamp sets – can you name all three? You are pretty smart (and good looking), so I’m placing all of my bets on your ability to name them. Here’s my card:

Thoughts & Prayers, Lots of Happy Card Kit, Label Me Pretty, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, birthday cardTips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Three Stamp Sets. I asked you to guess what three stamp sets are featured on this card – and I trust that you gave it a good effort before just moving along to see the answer. I love how honest and challenge-accepting you are! Well, here they are:
    • Label Me Pretty. To create the light border around the sentiment, I painted the border of one of the Label Me Pretty stamps with my Soft Sky Stampin’ Write Marker and stamped it on Thick Whisper White cardstock. I punched the sentiment with the Pretty Label punch, which is included with the stamp set as part of the Label Me Pretty Bundle.
    • Lots of Happy Card Kit. This fun sentiment is pulled right from the All-Inclusive Kit on page 15 of Stampin’ Up!’s 2018 Occasions Catalog. It’s one of the best kits EVER – the sentiments in the included set are amazing for lots of occasions, and you know how much I love great sentiments. The kit comes with a Refill Kit, too, so you can use that stamp set over and over.
    • Thoughts & Prayers. You recognize the spray of foliage above and below the sentiment, right? I stamped these images with Old Olive ink on a Pear Pizzazz Panel. I’m sharing a little bit more in the next section…
  • Thoughts & Prayers. The Thoughts & Prayers stamp set is one of Stampin’ Up!’s longest running stamp sets. The sentiments, branch and tree are comforting and timeless. You don’t see a tree on this card, though, because I masked the tree to stamp the branches on top of one another. How simple! Here’s a closer look:Create a beautiful border for a simple sentiment with Thoughts & Prayers stamp set, Stampin' Up!, Brian King
  • Sweet Color Combination. I’ve really fallen in love with Softy Sky – it’s my go-to blue these days. I’m drawn to the softness of this shade of blue that looks great with almost any color – on today’s card, I’ve combined Soft Sky with Pear Pizzazz and Whisper White with touches of Old Olive and Basic Black.
