Happy 150th with Two New Bundles

Today, we are kicking off the 150th week of Global Design Project challenges with a super-fun sketch. For this sketch challenge, I’m sharing a sneak peek at two new bundles in Stampin’ Up!’s 2018 Holiday Catalog – these were at the top of my list (and we received both as pillow gifts during our Stampin’ Up! Incentive Trip to Alaska. What fun! Here’s my card:

And here’s the banner for the challenge that inspired my card (this challenge goes live on the GDP site at 7am EST):

GDP150Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Holiday Catalog Sneak Peeks. I was so excited to receive Dashing Deer and Merry Christmas to All as pillow gifts on the Stampin’ Up! Incentive Trip. Not only are they two of my favorite bundles in the new catalog, but they are also the first two bundles in the new catalog. The three shapes in the background of the card are stamped with the Merry Christmas to All stamp set and cropped with the coordinating Merry Christmas Thinlits Dies – a great collection of sentiments for your holiday cards. The “peace & love” is also from this stamp set. Here’s a look at the Merry Christmas to All bundle: Merry Christmas to All Bundle, Stampin' Up!, 149952The gorgeous deer (which looks dashing as he dashes across this card) is cropped from the Detailed Deer Thinlits Dies that accompany the Dashing Deer stamp set. • A Tranquil Backdrop. While the dashing deer panel would look quite lovely against a background of Christmas plaid (and there are lots of great papers to choose from in both the Annual Catalog and Holiday Catalog), I decided to stick with a Crumb Cake background from this piece of Tranquil Textures Designer Series Paper. This bokeh-esque panel keeps with a monotone color scheme and adds a lovely texture to the project. • Monochrome Color Palette. I love to play with colors, but I also appreciate a toned-down, monochromatic color scheme, too. My card only showcases three colors – Crumb Cake, Basic Black and Whisper White. Here’s a closer view of how these three colors play together on my card: Dashing Deer, Merry Christmas to All, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, GDP150If you find this color combination of Whisper White, Crumb Cake and Basic Black appealing, please save this:Stampin' Up!
