It’s time for another CASE the Designer Challenge with the Global Design Project. There are so many places to find inspiration for the projects we make – I love the opportunity to create a project that’s inspired by the art of my fellow team members on GDP. Always a joy! This week we are CASEing my good friend, Krista Frattin. What fun! Here’s my card:
And here’s the banner for the Global Design Project challenge that inspired my card:And here’s the banner for this week’s CAS(E) This Sketch challenge – how funny that her card is so close to this simple sketch (perfect timing!):

Tips, Tricks and Reminders
- CASEing Krista. When we CASE (Copy and Share Everything or Copy and Selectively Edit), we find inspiration in a project – theme, color combinations, layout, products used – and create our own project by making changes to make it our own. When CASEing, it’s important to give credit to the original designer – it doesn’t take away from your project at all. Krista’s work is always so soft and elegant. Her project inspired me to use the Wishing You Well stamp set and soft colors to create this “thinking of you” card. Like Krista, I kept a clean layout for my card, positioned the focal element in the bottom, right corner of my card and added beautiful texture. Such an honor to be inspired by her beautiful card.
- Wishing You Well. I only used two stamps on this card – both are from the Wishing You Well stamp set in Stampin’ Up!’s 2018 Holiday Catalog. I love the details in this Distinktive stamp – it gives so much depth and texture with a single stamp of the image. Here’s a look at Wishing You Well:
How gorgeous are these images and sentiments? I stamped the bushel on Sahara Sand cardstock with Crumb Cake ink – not much else I needed to do to make it beautiful. I added a slanted banner, a heart Blushing Bride Heart from the Support Ribbon Framelits Dies and a Blushing Bride frame embossed with the Basket Weave Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.
- Soft Colors. I usually reach for bold or bright colors, but I love the combination of soft colors used on this card. If you like this combination of Blushing Bride, Sahara Sand and Crumb Cake as much as I do, please save this:
Stamp Sets: Wishing You Well Papers: Sahara Sand, Blushing Bride, Thick Whisper White Inks: Crumb Cake, Basic Black Accessories: Basket Weave Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Support Ribbon Framelits Dies, Stampin’ Dimensionals
I hope you’ll pop over to the Global Design Project site to see the cards by the design team members and to the CAS(E) This Sketch site to see the cards by that challenge’s design team. I hope you’ll play along with this week’s challenge.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Love the softness and then the texture you created with the embossing folder to frame it.
Thanks, Windy! I love the texture of this EF.
I love this beautiful card, Brian, with the EF and the sentiment banner across it. Great take on the Krista’s inspiration. Have a wonderful day!
Thanks, Hilda! <3
Brian – you have made the absolute perfect card for Breast Cancer Awareness month for someone undergoing treatment. The Blushing Bride pink is so soft and warm it’s like a hug in the form of a card. I just love it and thank you for inspiring me. I love that stamp set and am so glad to be owning it.
Thanks so much, Grace! I’m so glad you like the card and have pointed to another great reason to send it. <3
Soooo pretty! Love the pink with he neutrals!
Thanks, my friend! I’m a fan of these colors, too! <3
Oh, Brian, I love this color combination, the Blushing Bride is such a soft and warm color, it goes great with neutrals like Sahara Sand.
Love the texture of your embossed panel and the way you placed your sentiment, just a bit tilted upwards.
Beautiful card my friend.
Hugs.
Maria.
Thanks so much, Maria! I was particularly happy with the slanted banner, too. I’ll be doing that again. 🙂 Glad you like the card. <3
This is a gorgeous card Brian, made with one of my favourite stamp sets! I love you sentiment strip, mounted on an angle and extending past the centre piece. Very eye catching.
Thanks so much, Connie! It was fun to play with these soft colors (for a change). I’m so glad you like the card! <3
Love this card. The colors are so soothing. And… another stamp set to add to my wish list. <3
Thanks so much, my friend! I love soft pink with light tan – this is a color combination I pull out every once in a while. <3
