Wishing You Well for GDP and CTS

It’s time for another CASE the Designer Challenge with the Global Design Project. There are so many places to find inspiration for the projects we make – I love the opportunity to create a project that’s inspired by the art of my fellow team members on GDP. Always a joy! This week we are CASEing my good friend, Krista Frattin. What fun! Here’s my card:

And here’s the banner for the Global Design Project challenge that inspired my card:GDP160And here’s the banner for this week’s CAS(E) This Sketch challenge – how funny that her card is so close to this simple sketch (perfect timing!):

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • CASEing Krista.  When we CASE (Copy and Share Everything or Copy and Selectively Edit), we find inspiration in a project – theme, color combinations, layout, products used – and create our own project by making changes to make it our own.  When CASEing, it’s important to give credit to the original designer – it doesn’t take away from your project at all. Krista’s work is always so soft and elegant. Her project inspired me to use the Wishing You Well stamp set and soft colors to create this “thinking of you” card. Like Krista, I kept a clean layout for my card, positioned the focal element in the bottom, right corner of my card and added beautiful texture. Such an honor to be inspired by her beautiful card.
  • Wishing You Well. I only used two stamps on this card – both are from the Wishing You Well stamp set in Stampin’ Up!’s 2018 Holiday Catalog. I love the details in this Distinktive stamp – it gives so much depth and texture with a single stamp of the image. Here’s a look at Wishing You Well:Wishing You Well, Stampin' Up! 147864How gorgeous are these images and sentiments? I stamped the bushel on Sahara Sand cardstock with Crumb Cake ink – not much else I needed to do to make it beautiful. I added a slanted banner, a heart Blushing Bride Heart from the Support Ribbon Framelits Dies and a Blushing Bride frame embossed with the Basket Weave Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.Wishing You Well, Stampin' Up!, Brian King
  • Soft Colors. I usually reach for bold or bright colors, but I love the combination of soft colors used on this card. If you like this combination of Blushing Bride, Sahara Sand and Crumb Cake as much as I do, please save this:Stampin' Up! Color Inspiration - Blushing Bride, Sahara Sand, Crumb Cake

Stamp Sets: Wishing You Well  Papers: Sahara Sand, Blushing Bride, Thick Whisper White  Inks: Crumb Cake, Basic Black  Accessories: Basket Weave Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Support Ribbon Framelits Dies, Stampin’ Dimensionals

I hope you’ll pop over to the Global Design Project site to see the cards by the design team members and to the CAS(E) This Sketch site to see the cards by that challenge’s design team. I hope you’ll play along with this week’s challenge.

Thanks for stopping by today!
