I Love Our Life Together

We are one month and one day away from Valentine’s Day – it’ll be here before we know it. As such, I’m sharing a small, sweet Valentine’s Day card I’ve made with several new products from Stampin’ Up!’s 2019 Occasions Catalog – the papers, the stamps and the dies are all new. Here’s my 9″ x 2-1/2″ card (scored at 4-1/2″ so it fits perfectly in the envelopes that come with the Narrow Note Cards & Envelopes):

Meant to Be Bundle, All My Love Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, Valentine's Day cardTips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Meant to Be. While I have shared several projects that showcase the amazing Be Mine Stitched Framelits Dies, this is the first time I’m inking up the Meant to Be stamp set – such a great bundle! Not only does this card work perfectly at Valentine’s Day, but it’s an important set to have throughout the year – weddings, anniversaries and thank yous. Here’s a look at the Meant to Be Bundle:Meant to Be Bundle, Stampin' Up! 150587The heart that’s the focal point of my card was cropped with one die and two pieces of cardstock. The die cuts out two pieces – the heart AND the scalloped, stitched frame. I stamped the heart and sentiment before cropping the heart with the die. I ran the die through the Big Shot a second time with a piece of Lovely Lipstick cardstock to crop the border. I put them together, flipped them over and taped the white heart inside the red frame:Meant to Be Bundle, All My Love Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, Valentine's Day cardAfter I stamped the heart with the sweet flowers with Lovely Lipstick, I used a Blender Pen to pull in some of the ink from the stamped image. A subtle, quick way to add color.
  • A Perfect Pair. I designed this card to fit perfectly in an envelope from the Narrow Notecards & Envelopes – I only changed the layout of the base – my card scores along the thin top rather than the long side.Meant to Be Bundle, All My Love Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, Valentine's Day cardTo tie-in the envelope to the card, I added a panel of the All My Love Designer Series Paper to the flap of the envelope and snipped around it.
  • Valentine’s Day Color Combination. All three of the colors I used on this card are pulled right from the All My Love Designer Series Paper:All My Love Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up! 148576When I first introduced the new papers from the 2019 Occasions Catalog, I selected a color combination I loved from each pack of papers (you can see that post here). The colors I used today are the colors I chose in that post. If you like this combination of Crumb Cake, Flirty Flamingo and Lovely Lipstick, please save this:Stampin' Up! 1. Gorgeous mix of pattern and traditional colors for Valentine’s Day. You can never get too much Lovely Lipstick.

  2. What’s not to love about that fabulous designer paper? The contrasting strip behind the hearts is just the perfect touch. Envelope flap – puts it all over the top.

  3. What a beautiful Valentine’s card, Brian. I love the heart dies and the small strip of DSP really grounds the beautiful hearts. I’m a DSP hoarder, but want to use it more. Thanks for inspiring me! Have a great day!

  4. Boy, that Lovely Lipstick is just a beautiful color and it certainly enhances and brings to the forefront your stamped white heart. I just love the look of this card Brian and one of it’s beauties is the size. Just fabulous.
