The sketch challenge that kicks off today at CAS(E) This Sketch gave me the chance to combine a sentiment from one new bundle with a gorgeous die in another new bundle. Here’s my card for this week’s challenge:
And here’s the banner for the challenge that inspired my card:
- Two New Bundles. How gorgeous is this trellis die cut from the Wonderful Floral Framelits Dies, part of the Wonderful Romance Bundle in Stampin’ Up!’s 2019 Occasions Catalog. While I didn’t incorporate other elements from this bundle on this card, there are so many gorgeous elements I’ll be using shortly. Here’s a look at the Wonderful Romance Bundle:The sentiments included on this card and with this gorgeous trellis are from the Dear Doily stamp set. I love how the scripty “Words can’t express…” is resolved with the block-lettered “…just how much you mean to me.” The combination is spectacular. Here’s a closer look at the Dear Doily Bundle:I created a gorgeous card with this bundle for last weekend’s stamp club – I look forward to sharing that project with you soon.
- Sentiment Staples. While the Wonderful Floral Framelits Dies make a gorgeous statement on the front of this card, there are two must-have staples that helped to accent the trellis of leaves. I stamped “Words can’t express…” on a piece of Balmy Blue Tranquil Textures Designer Series Paper and punched it with my 2-1/4″ Circle punch. I glued it to another punched piece of cardstock to give it a firm foundation to be popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I stamped “…just how much you meant to me” on Thick Whisper White and cropped it with a simple banner from Bunch of Banners – lots of great banners in that must-have staple. Here’s a closer look:
- Color Inspiration. While the colors on this card were inspired by Tranquil Textures Designer Series Paper, only two (Balmy Blue and Soft Sea Foam) are found in the pack of papers – and both of these colors are included in Tranquil Textures Designer Series Paper pieces on this card. The third color (Shaded Spruce) is inspired by the Tranquil Tide color in the pack. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Tranquil Textures Designer Series Paper: If you like this combination of Soft Sea Foam, Balmy Blue and Shaded Spruce as much as I do, please save this:
Stamp Sets: Dear Doily Papers: Tranquil Textures, Shaded Spruce, Balmy Blue, Thick Whisper White Inks: Basic Black Accessories: Wonderful Floral Framelits Dies, 2-1/4″ Circle punch, Bunch of Banners Framelits Dies, Stampin’ Dimensionals
I hope you’ll pop over to the CAS(E) This Sketch challenge site to see the cards by the design team members and to play along with this week’s challenge.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Sigh….just when I thought I didn’t need anything else from the Occasions catalog you show me a fabulous card with the Wonderful Romance bundle.
I didn’t think I needed this set at first, but this is the second time I’ve showcased it. Have really enjoyed playing with the set. ♥
So beautiful and so balanced with the three spots of blue. Love it!

Wow, awesome card with these dies..just got the Romance bundle and will have to case this. Love the Balmy and Spruce together, too!

Thanks so much, Melanie! We didn’t use this stamp on our project (even though we used this set). Always love to hear from you! ♥
What a lovely card, I to love this font, and the color combo is really pretty.
Thanks, Katrina! The coordinating sentiments in the set are beautiful.
This color combination is like a good marriage – each partner bringing out the best in the other. That leaf die is just gorgeous and really takes this fabulous card over the top. I just love this one Brian. Outstanding!
Thanks so much, Grace! I had to play with these colors a bit to find the balance I wanted. So glad you like it.
Your card is wonderful, Brian. I think I may have to CASE! I have not used that die yet and can’t wait to try it. I agree with Mary about the blue.
I’m so glad you like it, Karen! You’ll have fun with this die. Thanks for your kind comments!

Awww…thanks so much, my friend! I couldn’t love this trellis die more. Glad you like my card.
That die was made for this sketch…..or perhaps that sketch was made for this die…..either way….beautiful card!
🙂 Thanks so much, Linda! I thought the die was “loosely tied” to the sketch until I was done. 🙂 So glad you like it.
I can’t believe how perfect that die is for this sketch! I love how you layered these colors together and gave this card special treatment with that bold sentiment.
Thanks so much, Jen! Was so happy to have this die when I saw this sketch. Glad you like it.
