Spring has definitely arrived in Atlanta – I crafted Sunday afternoon with the Fungeon door wide open to let the happiness spill into the my craft space. Such a great weekend! Perhaps that’s what inspired me to make this Spring-themed card full of flowers and a sweet, welcoming sentiment. Here’s my card:
And here’s the banner for the Global Design Project challenge that inspired my card:Tips, Tricks and Reminders
- Well Said. My card features a panel of wild flowers that were cropped from the Well Written Framelits Dies that coordinate with the sentiment from the Well Said stamp set. Good news! They are available in Stampin’ Up!’s 2019 Occasions Catalog as a bundle with a 10% savings. Here’s a look at the Well Said Bundle:Even with the 10% savings from the bundle, it’s a pricey bundle, but I promise it’s well-worth the expense. Just look at all those sayings and dies! Also, if you order this bundle before March 31, you automatically earn a Sale-a-Bration item and are close to earning two (or cashing in on a $100 level item). How’s that for awesome?!The sketch for this week’s challenge includes nine hearts. While I didn’t use hearts, I added nine flowers on my design. The nine images aren’t necessary (you can edit a sketch however you want), but it was fun to incorporate that element of the sketch design. Last week, I shared a step-by-step tutorial for using the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets to glue down sentiments or images from the Well Said Bundle. Click on the picture above to read that entire post.
- Needlepoint Nook. While the focus of this card is the sweet flowers and sentiment from the Well Said Bundle, the background pattern on this card is created with two striped patterns from the Needlepoint Nook Designer Series Paper. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in this pack of papers: In addition to the Needlepoint Nook Designer Series Paper, I used one other item from this suite on my card – and I bet you’d never have guessed it. See that label die just above the stitched floral element in the bottom, right corner of this picture? I stamped the word “WELCOME” on Thick Whisper White cardstock and then cropped it with this label die. I simply snipped the ornate ends off the cropped image. It gave me a perfect rectangle for my simple sentiment. To see all of the products in the Needlepoint Nook suite of products, click here:
- Spring Colors. Two of the primary colors on my card (Highland Heather and Old Olive) are pulled right from the Needlepoint Nook Designer Series Paper. I added Calypso Coral as a lovely complement to these two colors. I also added Pineapple Punch flowers and a Pool Party sky, but Calypso Coral, Highland Heather and Old Olive are front-and-center on this card. If you like this mix of sweet colors, please save this:
Bundles: Well Said Stamp Sets: Well Said Papers: Needlepoint Nook Designer Series Paper, Calypso Coral, Old Olive, Highland Heather, Pineapple Punch, Pool Party, Thick Whisper White Inks: Basic Black Accessories: Well Written Framelits Dies, Layering Squares Framelits Dies, Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies, Needlepoint Elements Framelits Dies, Stampin’ Dimensionals
I hope you’ll pop over to the Global Design Project site to see the cards by the design team members and to play along with this week’s challenge.

Great spring card, Brian. Love the two DSPs and the pretty bright flowers. It was nice here yesterday but not warm enough to have the door open. Have a wonderful day!
Thanks, Hilda! I had fun with the stripes in this paper – such a great pack. Glad you like the Spring flowers – it’ll arrive soon enough. š
Spring is here too and your card welcomes it so nicely! Love your color combination, think I have to go CASe the combo!
Yay! Let’s just hope it stays like this for a while and doesn’t go back to Winter or jump too fast into Summer. Thanks, Dianne! ā„

Hi Brian:
I have this bundle and have already gotten my monies worth. I love having the word dies and the ease with which they die cut. Yeah! It’s now one of my go to sets for sure. Beautiful card today and yes, I too love your color combination. Spring is definitely here in mid coast Maine. We still have snow but it’s disappearing at a pretty good rate.
Thanks for the testimonial on this bundle, Grace! It’s really great to have – and I’m so happy to hear you are making good use of it. ā„
Iām so happy Spring has arrived in your area. You can tell it in your card with all the bright cheeriness !
Thanks, Sharon! ā„
Great card Brian ! Bravo !!! I enjoy your art a lot. Thank you so much for all your posts. xx
Thanks so much, Diane! I’m happy to share and grateful for your kind comments!
Well Brian, it’s officially Spring but not up here yet, it’s still very cold and I think the little flowers are kind of afraid to peek out of the ground.
But your sweet card serves as a reminder of what’s hopefully coming soon, beautiful flowers, lots of color and warmth.
Beautiful layering as always, awesome papers and design.
Thank you for sharing.
XO
Thanks so much, my friend! Had fun with these flowers and sweet colors. Hoping Spring makes it to you soon! ā„
