Many of my Stampin’ Up! team members (not only those with blogs) share their gorgeous projects in our team’s Facebook community – there’s such amazing and inspiring creativity in this group! I’m always excited when my team’s blog hop rolls around, though, because I get to share some of their amazing work with you. I’m just as excited to see their projects as you are, and I am proud to share them with you.
Welcome to InKing Royalty’s July Blog Hop! This year’s Blog Hop themes are inspired by a single word – and this month our projects are centered around SUNSHINE. The Sun is the single most important source of energy for life on Earth – it guides our clocks, calendars and planting schedules. We may be enduring a heat wave this week, but we still associate the Sun with positivity, joy and renewal. We are excited to share our creations with you today! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.
Sometimes it’s hard to remember that the Sun will rise again tomorrow. When we get bogged down in the intricacies of our day-to-day lives, hard times can really hit us hard. When bad times happen to someone you love, what better way to let them know you care than to make a sweet card and offer a hug? For today’s SUNSHINE-themed blog hop, I created a “I’m here for you” card that tells a simple story. Here’s my card:
Tips, Tricks and Reminders
- Friend Like You & Here’s a Card. The Friend Like You Bundle only slightly drew my attention until I paid attention to the amazing samples in the 2019 Annual Catalog. There are so many artistic and beautiful ways to showcase these fun sentiments and amazing dies. Can’t you just imagine the variety of landscapes you can create with these dies? Here’s a look at the Friend Like You Bundle:
I pulled the sentiment for this card from the Here’s a Card stamp set – such a variety of great sentiments in this set. “I’m here if you need me” is such a powerful statement that I love – it says a lot in just a few words. Here’s a look at the Here’s a Card stamp set:
- Layering. My first thought was to create a black silhouette with these dies – how gorgeous would these shapes look against a big, full moon? That would look incredible – except that this is a sun-themed challenge. π I glued the Pineapple Punch sun to the Seaside Spray background before gluing down the Old Olive flora. Here’s a closer look at the layers:
These dies are so fun to play with and so easy to use.
- Color Combination. This simple card follows a simple color scheme – blue, yellow and green. I picked a soft blue, bright yellow and regal green for this card – and I think they work wonderfully together. If you like this combination of Pineapple Punch, Seaside Spray and Old Olive, save this:
I extended the color scheme to the envelope flap, too, by adding a checkered Pineapple Punch pattern from the 2018-2020 In Color 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper:
Stamp Sets: Here’s a Card Papers: Gray Granite, Basic Black, Seaside Spray, Old Olive, Pineapple Punch, Blushing Bride Inks: Tuxedo Black Memento Accessories: Friendly Silhouettes Dies, Stitched Labels Dies, Stampin’ Dimensionals

I love the textures from this stamp set! It was not on my radar…..until now. You made a gorgeous card.
Thanks so much, Jackie! The samples convinced me to take another look – the dies are amazing. β₯
Powerful card Brian – I like the textures and the colors you used. Pretty.
Thanks so much, Linda! I appreciate it. β₯
Love this simple design and the perfect little heart to “punctuate” it!
Thanks, Mary! I added the heart to fill the space before the sentiment – that’s when I realized I needed it there. π
Love the dimension and depth of this card, it totally looks like the sun is either rising or setting, either way, it looks amazing.
I too love that teeny heart, it’s a sweet and lovely detail.
Thank you for sharing.
XO
Thanks so much, Maria. The elements of these dies made it so easy to build a simple scene. Glad you like it. β₯
Totally missed that stamp set and dies in the catalog, now I have to go search for them!
They are pretty amazing, Dawn! I am happy if I’ve encouraged you to take another look. β₯ Thanks!
Love the card. Can’t believe I never noticed that bundle before.
Yay! That seems to be a recurring theme in these comments. So glad you like it, Lynn!
This is absolutely perfect my friend! I love how you made this look like first light! So pretty
Thanks, Jennifer! It wasn’t where I started when making this card, but I’m happy with how the card almost built itself. π
What a terrific card. Anyone would love to receive that and be cheered up.
Thanks so much, Dianne! I love the sentiment almost more than anything else. β₯
Perfect colors…love the sentiment and feel of the card!
Thank you so much, Windy! While I could have easily made it “dusk” with a darker silhouette, I was happy to make a “dawn” or “mid-day” card with this big, bold sun.
So clean but so impactful. Love the color combination. I agree, this would look amazing on a moonlit card as well. This set was already on my wish list, but I might just have to move it up somewhat.
π Thanks so much, Sue! I love this set, and I am already planning other ways to showcase it. Glad you like my card. β₯
This card is so sweet and elegant. And the sentiment is from one of my favorite new stamp sets.
Thanks so much, Candy! I had fun with this card. The sentiment set is so versatile – I love it, too. β₯
This card transports you to a hillside at dawn. Sets a calm mood! Love that you used this bundle; it’s on my wishlist.
Thanks so much, Sheryl! I enjoyed working with it – and I’m so happy you like what I made. β₯
Beautiful card! Thatβs my favorite die set. Iβm inspired to crack it open and use it!
Thanks so much, Pam! You’ll enjoy playing with these dies.
Brian this is simply beautiful. I love it
Thanks so much, Robbye! I appreciate your sweet comments.
