You’re the Best!

Today’s card features some incredible Spring colors and a fun, Spring-themed kudos. My card features four new products in Stampin’ Up!’s January – June 2020 Mini Catalog, combining them for a sweet, simple card based on a fun layout. Here’s my card:

Welcome Easter, Thanks for the Laughs, Stampin Up!, Brian King

  • Hey Chick! The sweet, pudgy chick on my card is from an Easter stamp set called Welcome Easter, available in the new Mini Catalog. I don’t usually fall for fat animals, but these guys have stolen my heart. They are PERFECT for Easter but just as perfect for a variety of cards. Here’s a look at the images and sentiments in this adorable cling stamp set:Welcome Spring, Stampin Up! 151559The sentiment is from one of my favorite stamp sets in Stampin’ Up!’s January – June 2020 Mini Catalog, Thanks for the Laughs. I love the variety of great sentiments in this set – “You’re the best!” came in perfectly for this sweet card. • Simple Layering. I just adore this little chick, and I had fun coloring him with my Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blends. There are no dies that coordinate with this set, so I used my Brother ScanNCut to crop him out. The lines are bold enough and the image is big enough that I could have just snipped him out with my paper snips, but I really wanted that white border around him. Here’s a closer look:Welcome Easter, Thanks for the Laughs, Stampin Up!, Brian King The chick is mounted on THREE layers of this framed die from the Painted Labels Dies. The sliver of Pear Pizzazz is cropped with the die and glued to the panel that’s also cut from this Balmy Blue gingham paper from the Brights 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper which is glued to the same cutout of Balmy Blue cardstock to give it support. There are several dies int he Painted Labels Dies that are must-haves, and the bundle is pretty amazing, too. Here’s a look at the Painted Poppies Bundle that includes this set of dies (with a 10% discount when you buy both the stamp set and dies together): Painted Poppies Bundle, Stampin' Up! 153827
  • Spring Colors. This fun background of white and Daffodil Delight stripes was pulled from the Best Dressed 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper – you know I love a good diagonal print. 🙂 Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Best Dressed 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper:Best Dressed 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up! 151319If you like this mix of Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz and Balmy Blue, please save this for future reference:Stampin Up! 1. An iconic BK design in a perfect BK palette to help me ignore the 16” of snow we are forecast to get today/tomorrow. Thanks for brightening my day!

    • Awwww…thanks, Linda! How in the world can you be getting 16″ of snow? We are having Spring weather in Atlanta (which is annoying). Glad these colors could put a little sunshine into your day. ♥

  2. Darling little chick-a-boom! Perfect combined with a touch of gingham

  3. Adorable background you made for that chick! Sweet card!

  4. Brian, so creative to add green “grass” to the tag!

  5. This card will bring a smile to the recipient’s face because the chick is adorable and the sweet sentiment. Great job, Brian. Have a wonderful day!

  6. So nice to see spring colors in your card when it’s snowing like a mad man outside! I completely overlooked the Thanks for the Laughs set in the catalog but now I absolutely, positively have to have it. Great card – so soft and sweet on such a cold and snowy morning. Thank sBrian.

    • Thanks so much, Grace! It feels like Spring here in Atlanta, so I guess these Spring colors were a natural fit for me. Supposed to get cold again next week, but I’ll enjoy the shorts and tshirts until then. Thanks, my friend! ♥

  7. This is so cute!! Love your spring colors. It is snowing and gray here and they make me happy!!
