ORNATE GARDEN BANNERMy card is a simply showcase of the dies from one of the bundles in this suite and a sentiment from another bundle in the suite. I played with a lot of combinations before landing on this one. Here’s my card:

  • Ornate Thanks & Ornate Layers. The Ornate Garden Features two incredible bundles – and you are going to want to add both of them to your collection. I used a sentiment from the Ornate Thanks Bundle and two dies from the Ornate Style Bundle on today’s simple, layered card. The Ornate Thanks stamp set features three large sentiments (“THANK YOU,” “SO GRATEFUL” and “THANKS”) and then 16 stamps that can be added before or after those sentiments to say exactly what you want to say. Here’s a look at the Ornate Thanks Bundle:Ornate Thanks Bundle, Stampin Up! 154115The Petal Pink and Basic Black frames around my sentiment are from the Ornate Layers Dies that are part of the Ornate Style Bundle – such over-the-top gorgeous dies in this set! I couldn’t wait to crank out a couple of these layers. • Stitched Rectangles. While the dies from this set are incredibly gorgeous on their own, I added a Petal Pink Stitched Rectangle on top of the smaller die (it fit perfectly) and a Whisper White Stitched Rectangle over the larger die. Although there are some gorgeous elements in this larger die that are covered up by the white rectangle, I needed some white in my design. The white panel also helped the black die cut to shine.Ornate Thanks, Ornate Layers Dies, Stampin Up! Brian KingWhat do you think? Aren’t these dies amazing?!
  • Classic Color Combination. I love a black-and-white card. The addition of one more color really brings out something special in that color. The white plays with the softness of Petal Pink on this card, while the black brings a little drama. Together, the three make me very happy. 1. I love this card! It really shows off the beautiful die cuts.

  2. Modern, retro colors and stunning use of the dies!

  3. Perfect layering with those frames.

  4. LOVE the color combination my friend. OH SO LOVELY!!!

  5. An iconic BK design, even if the filigree doesn’t immediately call to mind your style. I love the simplicity of the design and the elegance of the colors. The suite as a whole is an overwhelming sensory experience; thanks for distilling specific elements and focusing on the strengths of a few parts at a time. It makes all the difference. Stay well…

    • Thank you so much, Linda! Your comments are always so kind and so thoughtful. My first reaction to this suite was “this isn’t my style,” but I slowly found ways to bend it to my aesthetic. 🙂

  6. The pink with the black is glam! Elegant card!

  7. You are so creative Brian! This is beautiful. Hope to use my ordered set like this as soon as possible.

I have had questions though about the A2 size cards most everyone makes (in the US), is their other sizes that are popular as well? 4×6, 5×7, etc. I donate all my cards (except the ones I give to my family and friends) to charities to sell and they keep all the proceeds. These are the folks asking.

  8. That is a beautiful card using the intricate dies. I’m loving those dies. Great job on the color combo. Be well. Enjoy your day!

  9. Very striking, Brian! When petal pink first came out, wasn’t sure I liked it till MAGNOLIA DSP came out
