The Joy of the Season with the Sweetest Border Dies

There’s something about peppermints and candy canes that really spark the Christmas spirit. So festive! So fun! The Sweetest Borders Dies give us a string of pepperminty goodness – and you are sure to want it for your holiday projects. Here’s my card that features this set of dies:

Wrapped in Christmas, Sweetest Borders Dies, Stampin Up!, Brian KingTips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Perfect Combination. The Real Red strip of cardstock that runs along the left side of the top panel is cropped with the Sweetest Borders Dies, part of the Sweetest Time Bundle. The dies cut along the edge of one side of the candy and not along the other so that you’re left with the sweetest border of holiday candies! Here’s a look at the Sweetest Time Bundle: Sweetest Time Bundle, Stampin Up! 155169While there are some great sentiments in the Sweetest Time stamp set, none of the “sweet” sentiments fit into the space I had left for it. I reverted to the “pointer finger over the spines of all my stamp sets” technique to find the perfect sentiment in Wrapped in Christmas:Wrapped in Christmas, Stampin Up! 153481
  • A Touch of Sponging. Before I assembled my card, I really wanted a touch of Soft Sea Foam to tie to the Soft Sea Foam base. Oh, what to do?! It’s subtle, but I just added a splotch of Soft Sea Foam ink with a Stamping Sponge before stamping my sentiment. • A Classic Color Combination. I’ve really fallen in love with the combination of Soft Sea Foam, Shaded Spruce and Real Red. If you like it as much as I do, I hope you will save this for future reference:Stampin' Up! Color Inspiration - Soft Sea Foam, Shaded Spruce, Real RedI like it so much that I apparently used this color combination for both of the other cards I’ve created with the Sweetest Time Bundle. How funny is that?! Brian, you have peaked my interest in this bundle. I love your card designs. And as I looked closer to the sentiments in the set, I saw a sentiment that my sister-in-law has been using year-round for a very long time – “Love and Light to You” … thank you. Have a great weekend!
