Grateful to Know You with To a Wild Rose

I love the warm, rich tones of Fall – even when they are used to recreate the beauty of a summer rose. For the FabFriday color challenge that goes live today, I’ve created a big, bold rose with the beautiful mix of Mint Macaron, Cinnamon Cider and Bumble Bee. Here’s my card:

Stampin Up! Color Inspiration - Mint Macaron, Cinnamon Cider, BumblebeeTips, Tricks and Reminders

  • To a Wild Rose. The To a Wild Rose stamp set is a gorgeous two-step stamp set that builds a beautiful rose and leaves. The flower can be colored or stamped in layers (there’s an outline of the each image with two stamps that fill in the color for each). Here’s a look at the beautiful images and versatile sentiments in the To a Wild Rose stamp set:To a Wild Rose, Stampin Up!, 149452On my card, I stamped the outline of the flower in Cinnamon Cider and both of the inside images with Bumblebee. I stamped the outline of the leaves in Cinnamon Cider and both of the inside images with Mint Macaron. I cropped them all with the coordinating Wild Rose Dies. I’ve used this set a lot since it debuted (note – I always use that flower) – here’s a look at some of the ways I’ve showcased it (you can click on the images to see the original post for each project):To a Wild Rose Bundle, Bird Ballad, Stampin' Up!, Brian King To a Wild Rose Bundle, Seaside Notions, Woven Threads Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up!, Brian King To a Wild Rose Tag, Stampin' Up!, Brian King
  • Tape it Up. You may have noticed that “GRATEFUL TO KNOW YOU” is not a sentiment option in the stamp set – you noticed that, right?! I really wanted to say that with this card for a special friend, so I pieced together two of the sentiments to give me what I needed. Here’s a closer look: To a Wild Rose, Stampin Up!, Brian KingTo build the new sentiment, I inked up “AND GRATEFUL” with Cinnamon Cider ink, put a strip of masking tape over the “AND” and stamped it on Thick Whisper White. I then inked up “TO KNOW YOU” and centered it under “GRATEFUL.” How easy is that?! The sentiment fit perfectly in this Stitched Nested Labels Die. Just what I wanted!
  • Tall, Thin Panel. While the card base on this card is a standard 4-1/4″ x 11″ (scored at 5-1/2″), the panel behind the flower isn’t proportional to the card base (my usual). Instead, I cropped this panel as a tall, thin panel that allowed my flower to hang over the edges and allowed the Mint Macaron base to shine. The Whisper White panel measures 3-1/4″ x 5″, and the wood grain panel measures 3-1/8″ x 4-7/8″. This wood grain paper is a Cinnamon Cider panel from the 2020-2022 In Color 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Papers.
