It’s Your Day for FabFri206

While the three colors for the FabFriday challenge that kicks off today (Just Jade, Blushing Bride and Bumblebee) are perfect for a beautiful, flower-filled card, I went in another direction with this trio of colors. This combination of green, pink and yellow gave me such a retro-feel, so I decided to embrace it. I started with a black-and-white piece of paper and used my Stampin’ Write Markers to add these three colors to the fun pattern. Here’s my card:

And here’s the banner for the challenge that inspired my card:

  • True Love. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again – I am in love with the True Love Designer Series Paper. I am well on my way to using all of the designs in this amazing pack of paper. The pages can be sophisticated or fun – here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the True Love Designer Series Paper:True Love Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up!, 154281 Here’s a look at the page I started with (you can click on the image below to flip through all of the pages in my online store): True Love Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up!, 154281With just a little mind-numbing coloring (you really can’t look at a full sheet of this paper without feeling a little woozy), you can transform this page of paper into something amazing.
  • Adding a Little Color. While the pages of the True Love Designer Series Paper look amazing in their natural state of black and white, it’s so easy to add color with a variety of coloring tools. To flip through all of the options for adding colors (including inks, markers and coloring tools) in my online store, CLICK HERE. I added color to my background with a trio of Stampin’ Write Markers. Happiest of Birthdays, True Love Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up!, Brian KingTo help me work through the busy background, I worked through one strip of the design at a time, creating three combinations of the three colors. I’ll be honest – my eyes got a little wonky at one point, so I just placed a piece of paper over the rest of the page to help me stay focused on the strip I was coloring.
  • Bold Sentiment Surround the Sentiment. The super-fun sentiment on my card is one of four great stamps in the Happiest of Birthdays stamp set from Stampin’ Up!’s 2020 Annual Catalog. I’m also well on my way to using all of these sentiments (only have the first one left to play with). Here’s a look at the great collection of birthday wishes in the Happiest of Birthdays stamp set:Happiest of Birthdays, Stampin Up! 152539I surrounded my sentiment with four pointy shapes from the Stitched Triangles Dies in a playful way to separate the sentiment panel a bit from the busy background. Here’s a closer look: Happiest of Birthdays, True Love Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up!, Brian KingFun, huh? And here’s a look at The Right Triangle Bundle, which includes the Stitched Triangles Dies:The Right Triangle Bundle, Stampin Up! 154079The triangles weren’t a part of my original design, but they added such a great detail to this fun card. Also – for the geometry nerds – I used all three of the triangle shapes in my design (despite the name of the set, only the Just Jade triangle is a right triangle).
