Sympathy with Sand & Sea Designer Series Paper

We are always so good about recognizing fun and celebratory anniversaries – weddings anniversaries and work anniversaries immediately come to mind. Even birthdays and most national holidays are anniversaries we love to celebrate with friends and family. When we lose a loved one, though, the annual anniversary of their loss can really be hard. It’s important to recognize how important that date can be to a friend – and it’s thoughtful to reach out and let them know you are thinking of them. I’ve made a card to recognize one of these non-fun anniversaries. Here’s my card:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Sand & Sea. Don’t you love the colors and textures on this sweet-and-simple card? There are four pieces of Sand & Sea Designer Series Paper, pulling in three of the gorgeous colors from this pack of papers. While Sand & Sea Designer Series Paper features gorgeous beach and ocean themes, the watercolored patterns on these pages aren’t specific to the beach (but are as serene and peaceful as the beach). Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Sand & Sea Designer Series Paper: Sand and Sea Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up!, 154288If you would like to flip through these pages in my online store to get a closer look at each of these patterns, CLICK HERE.
  • Serene Circles. I love my circle punches. We’ve had many over the years, but we are down to just three right now – 1-1/2″, 2″ and 2-1/4″. While I mostly use my circle punches to crop out sentiments, this trio of circles gave me the perfect backdrop for my sweet sentiment. I used each of the three punches to built my trio of soft tones: Wonderful as You, Sand & Sea Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up!, Brian KingThe sentiment, cropped with the Stitched Rectangles Dies, is from a really sweet stamp set in Stampin’ Up!’s January – June 2021 Mini Catalog called Wonderful As You. Here’s a look at that stamp set: Wonderful as You, Stampin Up! 154525
  • Soft and Subtle. I love yellow in a card that extends sympathy. It’s uplifting and hopeful and sweet. The trio of soft and subtle tones on this card works really well on this card – there’s a soft yellow, a soft pink and a soft blue. All of the colors in this Sand & Sea Designer Series Paper contribute to the sweetness of the pages. If you like this mix of So Saffron, Blushing Bride and Seaside Spray as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:Stampin Up! 9. You’re right those “loss of a loved one” anniversaries are hard. Kudos to you for remembering with a card. Beautiful card with that lovely DSP and symbolically the circles are perfect…our love never ends.

    • Thank you so much, Tracy! I didn’t even put the “circles” together with the “neverending love,” but it works! Perhaps I’ll take credit and say that was part of the rationale behind my design. 🙂 Thanks so much!

  10. Pretty card and so soft in the purpose of the message . The colors are delicate ,but not drab and the circles are perfect . I love my circle punches and I have a bag of many colors and sizes of cardstock circles that I find myself using from time to time .
A good layout to keep on hand for THOSE TIMES that you need a card for a sad situation .

    • Thanks so much, Sonny! I love these papers, too, and agree that the colors are so soft. The circles also make me so happy. Glad you like the card and simple layout.

    • That makes me so happy, Grace! And, yes! The tap I have on your house helped me to gear today’s card toward your needs. ♥ I’m so glad you like it and glad it will help you to make the cards you need to make. Much love to you.
