Treat Yourself with Sweet Ice Cream

Yesterday I shared some details about April’s Paper Pumpkin kit that centers around summer sweet treats. If you missed that post, you can see more here. If you receive Paper Pumpkin each month (but your demonstrator has since left the company or you were a demonstrator but still receive the kit), I would LOVE for you to consider adding me as your demonstrator. ♥

Because that kit coordinates with the Ice Cream Corner Designer Series Paper, which is available for purchase from the January – June 2021 Mini Catalog, I got an itch to pull out that paper and play. Here’s the card:

Sweet Ice Cream Bundle, Ice Cream Corner Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up!, Brian KingTips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Ice Cream Corner Designer Series Paper. I love the colorful, sweet (and delicious) images in the Ice Cream Corner Designer Series Paper. These Popsicles and ice cream cones are perfect for Summer, and the colors that are woven into these designs are wonderful! I used two patterns from this pack of papers on my card. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Ice Cream Corner Designer Series Paper: Ice Cream Corner Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up! 154567If you’d like to flip through the fun pages of this pack of papers in my online store, click on the photo below: Ice Cream Corner Stampin Up!
  • All Askew. My card was done – two panels of paper, perfectly lined up (staggered but straight up and down) on my card with a sentiment that fell into line with the layers. The pages of this paper are fun, but I needed something a little different. Rather than add to the card, I simply cut the Stampin’ Dimensionals off the back of the Popsicle layer  and off the back of the sentiment to reposition the layers. I decided to set the Popsicles askew a bit and to position the sentiment so it was lined up with the card base. It’s just a little detail that made my card a little different. Yay! Sweet Ice Cream Bundle, Ice Cream Corner Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up!, Brian KingMy fun sentiment is from the Sweet Ice Cream stamp set – I love this sentiment! While the bundle is currently on backorder (more are coming this week), the bundle can still be purchased today.
  • Layers. This is a simple card that was also really fun to pull together. The layout works with all sorts of papers and could be enhanced with ribbon or embellishments. I tried to add the gorgeous Blackberry Bliss 3/8″ Striped Ribbon, but I didn’t have room for a beautiful bow. Point is – if you like this layout, you can adapt it to any papers and colors. Here are the layers on my card, starting at the base and working my way up to the sentiment:
    • Blackberry Bliss – 4-1/4″ x 11″ (scored at 5-1/2″)
    • Ice Cream Corner Designer Series Paper – 3-1/4″ x 5-1/4″
    • Stampin’ Dimensionals
    • Terracotta Tile – 3-3/8″ x 4-5/8″
    • Ice Cream Corner Designer Series Paper -3-1/4″ x 4-1/2″
    • Blackberry Bliss – 3-1/4″ x 1″
    • Stampin’ Dimensionals
    • Terracotta Tile – Layering Circles Dies
    • Basic White – 2″ Circle Punch

Stamp Sets: Sweet Ice Cream  Papers: Ice Cream Corner Designer Series Paper, Blackberry Bliss, Terracotta Tile, Basic White  Inks: Blackberry Bliss  Accessories: 2″ Circle Punch, Layering Circles Dies, Stampin’ Dimensionals

I hope you like this sweet-and-simple card – and I hope you’ll give Paper Pumpkin a try this month if you aren’t already subscribed. Again, if you receive Paper Pumpkin but your demonstrator has since left the company (or if you were a demonstrator but still receive the kit), I would LOVE for you to consider adding me as your demonstrator. ♥

Thanks for stopping by today!

  1. I adore your use of Terracotta Tile with the Blackberry. I know they are in the DSP together but I wouldn’t have thought to use them in this particular way. That color pairing and setting the focal panel askew take this card over the top. Love it!

    • 🙂 Thank you so much, Linda! I might not have paired these colors together, either, if it weren’t for the paper. The askew panel just made this card a little more fun, I think. ♥

  2. I like your slant on the focal piece. I am not sure I would want to eat any of those TREATS ….they just look peculiar ! I have this paper and plan on using it this summer . Thanks for the layout measurements !
    Fun card !

    • Thanks, Sonny! I agree that the colors of the ice cream and Popsicles are unexpected, but I still think they are appealing – I’d have one right now. 🙂

  3. Oooooh, yummy for your TUMMY,
I LOVE IT MY FRIEND ♥️
    Have a nice week,
    Hugs Frenchie ♥️

  4. Sweet creativity and delicious design!

  5. Sweet card…this reminds me I need to stamp some of those pops! I have only done the scoops so far.

    • I am the same way, Windy! I was immediately drawn to the Popsicles in the stamp set, but I’ve only played with the scoops. I guess we both need to get on it. 🙂

  6. What a DELISH kind of card (and that’s coming from someone who doesn’t like ice cream). Well done my friend.

    • Thanks so much, my friend! I’m not happy with the idea that you “don’t like ice cream” – it leaves me distrustful a bit. How can you not?! No worries – I still love you lots.

  7. Love this yummy card! Thanks for the tips and measurements, as well as the versatility of the design. My goal this year is to use my pretty DSP and this will help. Enjoy your day!

  8. Love your design, Brian and this paper is so colorful. Thank you for sharing your card measurements!
