The pieces of this card have been floating around the Fungeon for almost a month – the embossed hydrangea and sentiment-stamped Designer Series Paper started at the front of my craft desk, then got moved to back of the desk. They were then moved to a cabinet top for safe-keeping and then to a shelf. They made their way into my basket of lost dreams (to be used on a card sometime). I pulled them out and set them on my desk again. These pieces may have embarked in a 15-stop tour of my craft space, but they are finally on a card I’m sharing with you today. Yay! They Here’s my card:
This is the second card I’ve made with this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge layout. If you missed the baby card I shared on Saturday, you can see it here. This card is more literal to the sketch design. And here’s the banner for the challenge that inspired my card:
- Hydrangea Haven Bundle. My card features a sentiment and flower that are stamped with the Hydrangea Haven stamp set and cropped with the coordinating Hydrangea Dies, which debuted in Stampin’ Up!’s January – June 2021 Mini Catalog. The Hydrangea Haven Bundle (both items sold together) is offered at a 10% discount – who doesn’t love a discount?! Here’s a look at this bundle:
Good news! The Hydrangea Haven Bundle is carrying into Stampin’ Up!’s 2021 Annual Catalog – AND the bundled savings continues, too. That doesn’t mean you should wait to pick it up later because many of the coordinating items from the Mini Catalog (the paper, the ribbon and the mercury glass acetate sheets) – and so many inspiration projects you’ll find online will have these products. You might as well go ahead and pick up the Hydrangea Hill Suite Collection before it retires at the end of June (or when supplies run out):
I cropped my focal panel with the curved die from the new Basic Borders Dies, available in Stampin’ Up!’s 2021 Annual Catalog:
- Hydrangea Hill. Designer Series Papers are a great starting point to build a card. I love to layer the papers and sometimes even add color to them or stamp on them. I stamped the “to an incredible woman” sentiment from Hydrangea Haven directly on the striped piece of Highland Heather paper from the Hydrangea Hill Designer Series Paper:
Because the stamp set is a photopolymer stamp, it was easy to line up the sentiment exactly where I wanted it on the striped paper. Tip: The sentiment wasn’t going to line up perfectly on each of the lines because the sentiment isn’t spaced exactly like the paper. I centered the middle word “incredible” on the center line and let the other two lines fall where they fell. Here’s a closer look at the colors and patterns in the gorgeous Hydrangea Hill Designer Series Paper (which retires in June):
- Purple, Purple, Purple. There’s A LOT of purple on this card. Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape are featured in the two pages I used from Hydrangea Hill Designer Series Paper. I added a sentiment, flower and base of Blackberry Bliss to add a richer, more mature purple to the mix. If you like this mix of Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape and Blackberry Bliss as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:
Bundles: Hydrangea Haven Stamp Sets: Hydrangea Haven Papers: Hydrangea Hill Designer Series Paper, Highland Heather, Blackberry Bliss, Thick Basic White Inks: Blackberry Bliss, Versamark Accessories: Basic Borders Dies, Hydrangea Dies, Basics Stampin’ Emboss Powders (White), Heat Tool, Pearl Basic Jewels, Stampin’ Dimensionals
I hope you’ll pop over to the Freshly Made Sketches site to see the cards by the design team members and to play along with this week’s challenge.
Thanks for stopping by today!
Brian

I love this beautiful purple card, Brian, with the embossed flower and the two DSP designs. Thanks for the tip about how you lined up the sentiment. Enjoy your day, my friend.
Thank you so much, Hilda! I’m so happy you liked it! ♥ Hope your day is wonderful!
Way to pull together a BEAUTIFUL card my friend…..With some things floating around your desk. WOW!!!!
Thanks, Kadie! It’s so much easier to make a card when all of the components are “floating around.” 🙂
Brian I agree, everyone should get this DSP before it’s gone, it makes any card look gorgeous! Especially, if love purple!
It’s a beauty – that’s for sure. I just don’t want anyone to be upset that they can’t buy it when they want it in two months. Thanks, Katrina.
I love when I can just find something hanging around that works perfectly on a card! This is very pretty!
Pretty, Pretty, Pretty, Brian! Glad the pieces found their way back to your desk😉
Thanks, Suzie! This card is much better than the card I was initially going to make with these elements. 🙂
