‘Tis the Season with Whimsical Trees & Expressions in Ink

Before I share today’s card, a Christmas card with fresh mix of colors and a gorgeous tree, I have some great news to share!

Two Great Papers Now In Stock

When Stampin’ Up!’s July-December 2021 Mini Catalog launched on Tuesday, there was one pack of GORGEOUS papers that weren’t available due to shipping concerns. Those papers arrived in Stampin’ Up!’s warehouse yesterday and are now available to order. Here’s a look at the patterns and colors in the Blackberry Beauty Specialty Designer Series Paper that’s now available:

Now that I have shared the good news, I’m excited to share a Christmas card I made with two of the ink-stained pages from the [again available] Expressions in Ink Specialty Designer Series Paper. Here’s my card:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Expressions in Ink for Christmas. I likely wouldn’t have reached for the pink ink stains in the Expressions in Ink Specialty Designer Series Paper if it weren’t for the amazing color inspiration in the Whimsy & Wonder Specialty Designer Series Paper found on page 25 of Stampin’ Up!’s July-December 2021 Mini Catalog. The pinks and greens in that pack of papers gave me permission to reach for Expressions in Ink for this card. I cut seven 1/2″ strips of patterns in the Expressions in Ink Specialty Designer Series Paper and pieced them together, alternating between the green and pink to build the focal panel for my card. Whimsical Trees Bundle, Expressions in Ink Specialty Designer Series Paper, Brian KingI cropped a circle in the center of the panel with my Layering Circles Dies (I cropped from the other side to prevent an impression from the dies). I popped up that panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Whimsical Trees & Christmas to Remember Bundles. The tree on my card is cropped with the Christmas Tree Dies, part of the Whimsical Trees Bundle, from Stampin’ Up!’s July-December 2021 Mini Catalog. I cropped the tree twice – once with Shaded Spruce and once with Pear Pizzazz and then pieced the two together, taping the Pear Pizzazz pieces from the back of the Shaded Spruce tree. Here’s a look at the Whimsical Trees Bundle: Whimsical Trees Bundle, Stampin Up! 156810I added seven gold ornaments to my tree with the Metallic Pearls – such a handy accent I always have on hand. I added a festive sentiment to my card from the Christmas to Remember stamp set, part of the Christmas to Remember Bundle: Christmas to Remember Bundle, Stampin Up!, 156806
  • Color Combination. Between the tree and the strips of paper behind it, there are a lot of greens showcased on this card – in the Designer Series Paper, Shaded Spruce, Pear Pizzazz and Just Jade are represented beautifully. I pulled Shaded Spruce and Pear Pizzazz from the paper to build my tree. I also pulled Polished Pink and gold from the Designer Series Paper to showcase on my card. I added a panel of Pool Party behind my circle cutout, knowing it would beautifully pull the pinks and greens together. If you like this mix of Polished Pink, Pool Party and Shaded Spruce, I hope you’ll save this for future use:Stampin Up! Color Inspiration - Polished Pink, Pool Party, Shaded Spruce

I hope you’ll take this opportunity to pick up these gorgeous papers – while I have no way of knowing how many packs arrived in Stampin’ Up!’s warehouse, I know how popular these are and don’t want them to sell out before you get your hands on it!
