Merry & Bright with Bright Baubles

The weather is starting to change here in Atlanta – the rain we had last week delivered us some cooler weather. I couldn’t be happier as it makes it easier for me to make Christmas cards. ♥ Today I’m sharing a card with no ink – just lots of great texture created by dies, an embossing folder and shiny embellishments. What fun! Here’s the Christmas card I’m sharing today:

Bright Baubles Bundle, Stampin Up!, Brian King, Christmas card

The Christmas ornament at the heart of this card is created with the Delicate Baubles Dies, part of the Bright Baubles Bundle. Such a gorgeous shape for a traditional ornament. Here’s a look at the Bright Baubles Bundle, new in Stampin’ Up!’s July-December 2021 Mini Catalog:

Bright Baubles Bundle, Stampin Up! 156384Here’s how I built my bauble:

  • I adhered a piece of Adhesive Sheet to the back of a piece of Basic White cardstock and cropped the detailed ornament with the Delicate Baubles Die.
  • I brushed out the negative pieces with my Take Your Pick Die Brush and poked the remaining pieces with my Take Your Pick Tool.
  • I adhered the white cutout to a piece of Real Red cardstock.
  • I placed the piece in my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, lined up the border die with the inside piece and cropped it out.
  • I popped up the cutout with Stampin’ Dimensionals

Of course the embossing folder from Stampin’ Up!’s 2021 Annual Catalog is currently on backorder as I showcase it today, but a shipment is expected in the warehouse on September 27) – you can add it to an order today and receive it once the stock is replenished. Here’s a look at this two-pattern set of 3D embossing folders:

I love the patterns and colors used in this pack of papers. These patterns provide a beautiful backdrop for this beautiful bauble. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Heartwarming Hugs Designer Series Paper:

If you like this mix of Real Red, Pear Pizzazz and Mossy Meadow as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:

What do you think? I love these oversized ornaments – they are the perfect size for a card. I can play a little with the background and just let the ornament shine.

  1. Glad you are getting a shift in seasons Brian! As always, love your matting strategies. Have a great week!

  2. Love the touch of wintry texture against the pattern.

  3. That Wintry Texture embossing panel just makes this card. Well Done my friend.

  4. Love the extra texture you added with the embossed greenery behind the ornament. Awesome card! I have not touched my Christmas goodies yet but will soon. If I wait for a change in my weather here in Florida, it would be January!

  5. I absolutely love when SU makes “double die” sets. They just give an elegant look to images. Love todays card and I really do need to get busy on Christmas cards. I am just enjoying the colors of fall way too much to give them up right now. LOL As always, a gorgeous card my friend.

  6. Wish there were measurements, instead of playing frustrating guessing games trying to figure them out. Great card, though!
