A big, beautiful sentiment and a gorgeous panel of Designer Series Paper are a card maker’s secret weapon. I feel like I can make any card with just those things…and a set of dies and embellishment…and some ink and Stampin’ Dimensionals…and, of course, cardstock…and paper trimmer and adhesive…and Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. Maybe it takes a little than I initially thought to make an incredibly beautiful card with limited supplies, but it’s still easy to do.
I have made TWO cards with the same sentiment and same pack of Designer Series Papers – one for Fall, and one for Winter. Here are the cards:
If you were exhausted from writing your wish list as you made your way through Stampin’ Up!’s July-December Mini Catalog (there are SO MANY things you need), then you might have given up a bit by the time you reached page 62 in the catalog. That’s where you might have looked past Thinking Thanks & Peace, a multi-holiday sentiment stamp set with big, bold, flourishing sentiments that cover Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and beyond. Here’s a look at this incredible stamp set:
While I used the same sentiment on both of the cards I’ve shared with you today, I stamped with different colors and featured the sentiment on two different patterns from the Beauty of the Earth Designer Series Paper, an all-seasons pack of papers from Stampin’ Up!’s 2021 Annual Catalog. I love both of these patterns – one features trees in Fall, and one features trees in Winter (or in the Smoky mountains). Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Beauty of the Earth Designer Series Paper:
One card features beautiful browns, and the other features beautiful blues. I showcased the Fall pattern with accents of Soft Suede (light brown) and Early Espresso (dark brown). I showcased the Winter pattern with Misty Moonlight (light blue) and Night of Navy (dark blue).
There are beautifully painted water spots on each of these Designer Series Papers, so additional accents that show up in person get lost in photos. If you look closely, you’ll see that I accented each card with three embellishments from the Elegant Faceted Gems (I used the Petal Pink and clear embellishments on my cards). Here’s a look at this versatile pack of embellishments:
Stamp Sets: Thinking Thanks & Peace Papers: Beauty of the Earth Designer Series Paper, Misty Moonlight, Night of Navy, Soft Suede, Early Espresso, Thick Basic White Inks: Night of Navy, Early Espresso Accessories: Layering Circles Dies, Elegant Faceted Gems, Stampin’ Dimensionals
