Let’s Set Sail with New Horizons

I’m totally in love with the New Horizons 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper – the watercolored images set the tone for beautiful scenes in a variety of locations – hills, mountains, beaches and lakes. The card I’m sharing today takes one of the gloomier pages from this pack of papers and turns it into a lovely sunset boat ride. Here’s my card:

Here’s a look at the 6″ x 6″ page I used on my card:

While it looks like mountains along a body of water, the deep purple can also look like ominous clouds coming in. Once I cropped the piece I wanted for my card (from the top, left corner), though, the dark clouds disappeared and a calm backdrop appeared. Once I stamped the boat, you could definitely see the calm waters and cool backdrop.

The boat that’s floating on the calm waters is stamped and cropped with the Let’s Set Sail Bundle. Here’s a look at this fun bundle, new in Stampin’ Up!’s January – June 2022 Mini Catalog:

I stamped the base of my boat with Soft Suede and the sails with Soft Succulent. The two colors look so sweet and warm together. I also gave a little Misty Moonlight reflection in the water with the Let’s Set Sail stamp set. Here’s a closer look:
