Sometimes a little sketch or new color combination can really inspire a card you’ve been wanting to make for some time. As soon as I saw this weeks’ Freshly Made Sketches challenge, I knew I’d be making a baby card with an adorable onesie and a fun sentiment from a new stamp set in Stampin’ Up!’s January – June 2022 Mini Catalog. Here’s my sweet baby card:
And here’s the banner for Cécile Ribon’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge that inspired my card:
This many-layered card all started with a sweet sentiment from the Happy & Heartfelt stamp set – “hello baby!” is a sentiment we’ve had before (and will likely have again) because it’s adorable and sweet. With this handwritten font, though, it’s totally perfect! Here’s a look a the Happy & Heartfelt stamp set – please be sure to check out all of the great sentiments in this set:
I stamped the sentiment with Balmy Blue and cropped it with one of the onesies dies in the Baby Clothes Dies, part of the All of Baby Bundle. Here’s a look at this adorable bundle:
My onesie was layered on Petal Pink cardstock that was punched with the Postage Stamp Punch. I then added a layer of Soft Sea Foam, another layer of Balmy Blue and then a striped piece of Designer Series Paper from the You’re a Peach Designer Series Paper.
Along the bottom, right and top, left corners of the Balmy Blue square, I added a decorative strip from a die cut in the Palms Dies, part of the new Paradise Palms Bundle. What a great shape that can be used well beyond the palm tree set. Here’s a look at the Paradise Palms Bundle:
You can play with other shades, but baby cards generally showcase soft, sweet colors. This onesie card features of mix of blue, pink and green such that this card could be for a baby boy or baby girl. If you like this mix of Soft Sea Foam, Petal Pink and Balmy Blue, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:
Stamp Sets: Happy & Heartfelt Papers: You’re a Peach Designer Series Paper, Balmy Blue, Petal Pink, Soft Sea Foam, Thick Basic White Inks: Balmy Blue Accessories: Baby Clothes Dies, Palm Dies, Rectangular Postage Stamp Punch, Stampin’ Dimensionals
I hope you’ll pop over to the Freshly Made Sketches site to see the cards by the design team members and to play along with this week’s challenge.
Thanks for stopping by today!
