Paper Pumpkin Alternatives – Celebrating In Color

I hosted my monthly Zoom call with my Paper Pumpkin customers yesterday. During our Pumpkin in the Fungeon call, I share some fun ideas with the items included in the monthly kit, and my customers share their brilliant ideas. It’s always such fun to see what others are making and to spend that time with my customers who participate. I love this time to connect with my customers.

Pumpkin in the Fungeon, Brian KingToday I’m sharing some alternative projects with this last month’s Coloring In Color kit – a fun mix of beautiful cards that feature Stampin’ Up!’s 2022-2024 In Colors – Sweet Sorbet, Tahitian Tide, Parakeet Party, Orchid Oasis and Starry Sky. The cards are perfect for the birthday, graduation and celebration cards you want to have on-hand this time of year. Here’s a look at the finished projects from the May 2022 Paper Pumpkin kit:

Celebrating In Colors Paper Pumpkin, May 2022, Stampin Up!I really love the sentiments in this set – they give a perfect way to celebrate someone you love. The sentiments in the stamp set work well together or with the punch-out sentiments in the kit.

Alternative Projects

I made a handful of projects to share with my customers during our Pumpkin in the Fungeon call – I’m sharing four of them with you today. What fun!

Here’s a look at three of my alternative projects with this kit:

HAPPY to Celebrate Your Day

All five of Stampin’ Up!’s 2022-2024 In Colors are beautiful – and they look great together. As soon as I saw the open-letter “HAPPY” in the punch-outs that came with the kit, I knew I’d be coloring them – five colors for five letters. Yay! I filled a Peekaboo Treat Bag (new in Stampin’ Up!’s 2022 Annual Catalog) with specialty fresh-ground coffee and decorated it with one of the “HAPPY” from the kit. I stamped “to celebrate your day” with Sweet Sorbet ink on one of the banners in the kit and added it over the peekaboo window. I added one of each of the In Color dots from the kit, adding them just under or over the coordinating color in the word. I tied the bag with some Sweet Sorbet Baker’s Twine from the 2022-2024 In Color Baker’s Twine Combo Pack.

Alternative Projects, Stampin Up!'s May 2022 Paper Pumpkin, Celebrating In Colors, Brian KingThe Peekaboo Treat Bags are sized for small treats and 3″ x 3″ note cards. The see-through panel offers the receiver a little glimpse at what’s inside. The Peekaboo Treat Bags includes 10 bags – 5 kraft bags and 5 white bags that are food safe with a zipper seam at the top. Here’s a look at these bags:

Just for You Tag

Some of the designs in the kit provide a panel with a punch-out piece that lays over another design. The punch-outs from these pages are designed to be discarded, but I used the circular punch-out from the Orchid Oasis card as a frame for the sentiment on my Tahitian Tag. I stamped “HAPPY” over and over on the ombre tag with Tahitian Tide ink and added some ink spots with the stamp in the kit. I added a thin, gold strip to the top of the banner (cut from another of the cards) and tied a gold band and bow with Simply Elegant Trim.

I didn’t attach the tag to a card or a package – I’ll keep it on-hand for a last minute gift for a yet-to-be-decided celebration.

Best Wishes

Each of the cards in the Celebrating In Color Paper Pumpkin includes a scored piece that can be glued inside the card as a gift card enclosure. Here’s a look at these elements in the kit:

May 2022 Paper Pumpkin - Celebrating In Color, Stampin Up! 2I love the ombre effect on each of the gift card enclosure pieces. Instead of using them inside the card, though, I featured two of them on the front of a card. I snipped the scored ends off a Tahitian Tide element and a Parakeet Party element and created a fun card front with them. I played with the alternating colors to build this fun card:

You did it! I had been trying to figure out what to do with the cute ombre pockets. I was almost there but needed something to tie in the background as well as the center. Sheesh, I was making it too complicated. Your card is perfect. The other two projects are great as well. No wonder you are the king! Oh, congrats on your new sales achievement!
