Bewitching Boo!

Halloween is just around the corner – I have shared a project with the solid hat and a project with the dotted hat in the Bewitching stamp set, but I’ve yet to play with the hat with a spider’s web on it. That changed last night as I sat down to make a sweet Halloween card. Out came the spider web-emblazoned hat and a couple of other fun products – here’s the card I made:

I love a stamp/punch bundle – dies are great, but I love my punches. The hat in this Witch Hat Builder Punch is such fun – while you can create fun hats with the punch and no stamps, there are three hat images in the coordinating stamp set. Love that! Here’s a look at the Bewitching Bundle, which includes the Bewitching cling stamp set and coordinating Witch Hat Builder Punch:

Bewitching Bundle, Stampin Up! 159857When Stampin’ Up! added some additional Sale-a-Bration options to the earnings lineup earlier this month, they added the Dots & Spots Die, which is a stand-alone die (not specifically designed for a stamp set) in Stampin’ Up!’s 2022 Annual Catalog. I cropped the dots from a scrap piece of Pumpkin Pie cardstock and then cropped it with the largest circle in the Layering Circles Dies. I glued that to a Gorgeous Grape piece cropped with the same circle for a fun focal point on my card. Here’s a closer look:

Bewitching Bundle, Scary Cute, Stampin Up!, Brian KingThere are two ways to add the Dots & Spots Die to your Stampin’ Up! order – you can purchase the Dots & Spots Die for $32 with code #159164, or you can earn the Dots & Spots Die for free as your Sale-a-Bration selection with a $100 order with code #163098. Here’s a look at this super-fun die:

Dots & Spots Die, Stampin Up! 159164I wanted my witch’s hat to be black and the spider’s web to be white – best way to achieve that was to hear-emboss the hat with white Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Basic Black cardstock. I heat-embossed the hat again on Gorgeous Grape cardstock and snipped out the hat band. So easy! Here’s a closer look at the spooky hat:

Black & White Designs, Stampin Up! 159861I love this mix of bright, regal and neutral colors for Halloween. If you like this combination of Pumpkin Pie, Gorgeous Grape and Basic Black, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:

  1. Hauntingly charming mix of dots and stripes.

  2. Oh Brian, this card is too cute! So smart to emboss the hat in two colors to add the band, I would have never thought to do that. It was fun to get the dotted die free and check it off my wishlist.
