All is Merry & Bright

After a trio of Halloween treat bags over the past three days, I’m turning my attention back to some gorgeous Christmas-themed products. The Lights Aglow 6″ x 6″ Specialty Designer Series Paper sets the tone for this simple, elegant card. Here’s my card:

Both of the panels of Designer Series Paper are pulled from the GORGEOUS Lights Aglow 6″ x 6″ Specialty Designer Series Paper. This pack of paper is filled with beautiful patterns and amazing colors – I pulled these two Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen panels for my card. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Lights Aglow 6″ x 6″ Specialty Designer Series Paper:

I told you it was gorgeous! 🙂 Rather than just layer the two panels on my card, I decided to cut a fun pattern into the top panel with my Paper Trimmer. I simply cut three alternating diagonals into the 3″ x 3-3/4″ panel to create four pieces. I connected the pieces with a sticky note, allowing a small break between the pieces and flipped the panel over to add a few Stampin’ Dimensionals (and then a few more). Here’s a look at the back of this panel:

Since I didn’t layer this panel with cardstock, I wanted to make sure the panels were well supported. After I positioned the connected pieces on my main panel, I removed the sticky note pieces to reveal the popped up pieces. Here’s a closer look at the popped up pieces:

I stamped the sentiment from Brightest Glow with Evening Evergreen on thick Very Vanilla and cropped it with this unique circle die from the coordinating Labels Aglow Dies. Here’s a look at the Brightest Glow Bundle, which combines amazing sentiments with incredible dies:

I love the greens in the Lights Aglow 6″ x 6″ Specialty Designer Series Paper, and the vanilla and gold offer beautiful accents. If you like this mix of Very Vanilla, Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:

I love your color palette!!! Have a great rest of your week!

  3. Love the mix of pattern and cool shapes!

  4. Gorgeous! Love that you divided up the DSP into 4 sections. I’m not sure what takes top billing—your instinct for mixing patterns, the clever layering or the divine color combo. Perfection ♥️

    • 🙂 Thank you so much, Linda! The papers came together easily – the cuts to the top panel were my “special addition” with this card. I’m so happy you like it and appreciate your kind comments.

  5. Beautiful card…love the panels you cut with the DSP. That is a lot of dimensionals….that puppy is not going anywhere! Ha

    • Ha! Thanks, Windy! I didn’t want to leave that thin paper dangling. I had just opened a new pack of Dimensionals, so I guess I wasn’t feeling stingy. 😀

  6. This paper is gorgeous….love your design!

  7. Beautiful! the diagonal cuts make a fun design & a great card!

  8. Oooh , my Friend, I love that , diagonal cuts , I bet it would work with just about any DSP, HA ?
    Tfs hugs Frenchie ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

  9. Ah, green with envy! Not only elegant but a fun touch of whimsy! Who could ask for anything more? Just so cool with all those snowflakes, layers, and fun touches.

  10. It’s amazing how using panels instead of one solid layer of the beautiful DSP really makes it pop. Sometimes it is the little things that really make big changes. Enjoy your day!
