I’m So Fond of You

Yesterday I shared a colorful, floral card I made with Stampin’ Blends and the Perfectly Penciled Designer Series Paper. Today I’m sharing a colorful, floral card I made with Stampin’ Blends and the Perfectly Penciled Designer Series Paper. Deja vu? While I used a similar technique, the cards are very different – different flowers, different measurements and different colors. Oh, fun! If you missed yesterday’s card, you can see it here. Here’s my card for today:

Fond of Autumn, Perfectly Penciled Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up!, Brian KingThis card features rich, Fall tones and a rustic appeal with a burst of Linen Thread. I cropped a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of the Perfectly Penciled Designer Series Paper and then cut that piece into 1″ strips. The black-and-white paper gave me a canvas to color with my Stampin’ Blends. Here’s a look at the Perfectly Penciled Designer Series Paper from Stampin’ Up!’s 2022 Annual Catalog:

Perfectly Penciled Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up!, 159244Like yesterday’s card, I colored the space behind the flowers with Stampin’ Blends. While coloring the flowers can really make them pop, coloring the backgrounds can be effective, too (and fun). Here’s a closer look at how these panels came back together:

Fond of Autumn, Perfectly Penciled Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up!, Brian KingI stamped “I’m so fond of you” from the Fond of Autumn stamp set with Cajun Craze ink on Thick Basic White cardstock and cropped it with a Stylish Shapes circle. I popped that up over two banners (also from the Stylish Shapes dies and a messy bow of Linen Thread for a rustic look. Fond of Autumn, Perfectly Penciled Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up!, Brian KingThe banners from the Stylish Shapes dies weren’t long enough to give me the length I wanted on either side of the circle, so I snipped them in the middle and added a little space below the circle. Voila!

I used four Stampin’ Blends to color the panels on this card: Medium Deep Natural Tone (SU300), Cajun Craze, Calypso Coral and Pale Papaya. I love this mix of browns and warm rusty tones. If you like this mix of colors as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:

  1. Another stunner! You never cease to “WOW”

  2. I love the color combination of this pretty Fall card. Great coloring. Enjoy your day!

  3. Coloring those strips is a total WOW factor!

  4. How different the pattern looks on your cards vs. the pic of the DSP! I thought the DSP was very tiny floral prints but yours makes it look much larger. Now I’m interested in this paper.

  5. I really like the colors you chose! Lovely card!
