When Mom was able to visit for more than a week, we had a long list of to-dos. On the first day of her visit, we settled on a design for the Christmas cards she’d make to send to her friends and family. I already guessed she’d want to showcase the nativity from the Peace to You stamp set (and I was right), and the rest came together quickly. While she was here, she made more than 50 cards – here’s a look at one:
Both of the images in Peace to You are gorgeous! The sentiments are great, too, but Mom opted to leave a sentiment off the front of the card and add a beautiful one inside. Here’s a look at the Peace to You stamp set, new in Stampin’ Up!’s July-December 2022 Mini Catalog:
A couple weeks ago, I shared a card with the church in the snow. When I couldn’t find my Night of Navy ink pad, I tried Starry Sky (and couldn’t have been happier). Mom also liked that color choice and knew she wanted her card in Starry Sky. Here’s the card I previously shared (you can click on the image below to see the original post for this card):
I don’t make a lot of “fancy fold” cards, but I couldn’t resist this simple fold when helping Mom to make a standout Christmas card. Here’s how the card opens up (measurements are provided below):
The sentiment on the inside of the card is pulled from the Brightest Glow stamp set, which is filled with gorgeous sentiments. Mom and I had a hard time narrowing down the option. Here’s a look at the Brightest Glow Bundle:
Here are the measurements for the layers on this z-fold fancy fold card:
- Starry Sky – 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ (scored at 2-1/8″ and 4-1/4″)
- 2022-2024 In Color 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper (Starry Sky) – 2″ x 5-3/8″
- Orchid Oasis – 3″ x 4-3/8″
- Stampin’ Dimensionals
- Starry Sky – 4-1/8″ x 2-3/4″
- Basic White – cropped with Stitched Rectangles Die
- Basic White (inside) – 3-3/4″ x 5″
Here’s a look a the opened card from the top (and how the card will be showcased on tables and mantles after the card has been received:
I already know what you’re going to ask – Mom and I didn’t have the opportunity to make a video while she was here. There will be more times for that. In the meantime, I hope you love the card we created for her.

Thanks, Mary! I am loving these new In Colors.
You and your Mom did a really nice job on her Christmas cards. So pretty!
Thanks, Bette. It helped that we “hit the ground running” when she got here. This was a fun card to make.
Beautiful card! Your Mom is so cute. Can’t wait to see her video. How nice to be able to spend that time together.
Great card and colors! Great work Mom making 50+ cards (I’m a bit envious of your preparedness – but it inspires me to kick up my pace!).
🙂 There’s still plenty of time, Stella – no need to rush! We just knew she’d likely not be back here until Thanksgiving (when it would be too late). Thanks! ♥
Thanks, Rene’! We had a great time – I worked much of the days (she sat down here and crafted while I worked), but we had lunch and evenings together. ♥
Love Starry Sky ! It is such a pretty color to use just as you and your Mom chose .
Who wouldn`t be delighted to get this card with that “FUN FOLD “.
A really pretty card ! Thanks for the measurements !!
The fun fold isn’t as crazy as some – this is a classic, easy twist. Such fun! Thanks, Sonny!
Really lovely card and color! Perfect card to make multiples!
Thanks, Windy! This really was an “assembly-able” project. 🙂
Love both the cards!

Thanks, Hilda! We really had a great time. Hope your day was wonderful!
Your cards are absolutely beautiful and so fortunate for you and your mom to have this time together. I’ll get to see my son in about a week. Can hardly wait!
Thanks, Wendie! I really enjoy my time with Mom – we’ve been traveling to visit her this year. Nice to have her in our space. Enjoy your time with your son. ♥
Such a fantastic card Brian. And to think you made 50!! You are really on top of it, getting Christmas cards out of the way.
To be clear … MOM made 50 (and I helped). I haven’t begun to figure out what I’m going to do. 🙂 Thanks so much, Karen!
Wow gorgeous!
pretty card! I cased it for our card class only instead of orchard oasis, I used a piece of silver foil and for the dsp I used the silver and white dsp from saleabration and put starry sky direct to paper and another piece of silver behind it.
