Over the past several weeks, I’ve been running to my mail box to collect the GORGEOUS cards you’ve sent for my 2022 Holiday One-for-One Card Swap. I shared two batches of the amazing swaps this past week – if you missed them, you can see them here:
In a series of several posts over the next couple of weeks, I will share each of these beautiful cards with everyone. There’s so much wonderful inspiration to share!
I love these swaps because they showcase beautiful projects from card makers at ALL SKILL LEVELS – some are brand new to the craft, and others have been creating for years. If you participated in the swap and don’t see the card you received here, please wait to comment about that card when it shows up on my blog – that way, the creator of that card will be sure to see your comments.
I want to be clear – there were SO MANY gorgeous cards in the One-for-One Swap that I could have showcased each one and told you all the things I loved about each one. I pulled two from the bunch and am showcasing them separately. Today I’m sharing one of the cards that gave me a HUGE smile. I hope you love this amazing card from Barbara Moody as much as I do:
There are so many things to love about this card. I’m going to share my thoughts about some of them. Let’s start with the shiny boughs that build a stunning wreath around the penguin. Barbara left me a note to say she was inspired by the packing tape technique I’ve shared a couple of times (adhere a strip of packing tape to cardstock before cropping it with dies for a shiny finish) and couldn’t stop. 🙂 The shiny boughs, cropped from the Decorated Pine Dies, are amazing!
The Decorate Pine Dies were deeply discounted on December 1 as part of the Last Chance Sale and have now sold out. If you want to check out the items still available, click on the image below to begin shopping:
The shiny boughs were an appropriate setting for the dapper penguin at the heart of the wreath. Barbara cropped the penguin with Black Glimmer Paper, haunting me with a “why didn’t I think of that first?!” thought. I LOVE how formal the penguin is – so, so handsome. Here’s a closer look:
I love the mix of greens Barbara used to build the wreath on her card. If you like this mix of Parakeet Party, Granny Apple Green and Garden Green as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:
Stamps: Decorated with Happiness, Penguin Place Papers: Boughs of Holly Designer Series Paper, Granny Apple Green, Parakeet Party, Garden Green, Thick Basic White, Black Glimmer Paper, Pumpkin Pie Inks: Cherry Cobbler, Pumpkin Pie Accessories: Decorated Pines Dies, Penguin Builder Punch, Matte Black Dots, Corner Rounder (retired), Stampin’ Dimensionals
What do you think? How incredible is Barbara’s card?! Please leave a comment below to let her know how much you love her heartfelt creations.
If you missed the first two days of the Holiday One-for-One Cards Swap, you can see them here:
Thanks for stopping by today!
