Paper Pumpkin Alternatives – With Love & Gratitude

I hosted my monthly Zoom call with my Paper Pumpkin customers last weekend. During our Pumpkin in the Fungeon call, I share some fun ideas with the items included in the monthly kit, and my customers share their brilliant ideas. I’m always impressed by what others are making and love to spend that time with my customers who participate. Sometimes we rush through our projects and then just chat for the rest of the time.

Today I’m sharing two alternative projects I shared with September’s With Love & Gratitude Kit – a gorgeous collection of leaves, pumpkins and gold accents. The kit includes gift bags and small cards – what a great kit designed with input from Shelli Gardner. Before I share one of my alternative projects, here’s a look at the finished projects (as designed) from the September 2023 Paper Pumpkin kit:

Alternative Projects

As always, I designed some projects to share with my customers during our Pumpkin in the Fungeon call – and as always, I loved all the cards my customers shared on the call. Today I’m sharing two of my alternative projects with you. Here are the two projects I’m sharing with you today.

Paper Pumpkins

The pumpkins, leaves and flowers in this month’s Paper Pumpkin kit are really gorgeous – such a beautiful collection of perfectly coordinated colors and images for Fall. I cut one of the card bases into a 2-3/4″ square, added a nest of Gold 1/8″ Ribbon (available in the Online Exclusives) and gold Adhesive-Backed Sparkle Gems. The collection of leaves, pumpkins and shiny elements are popped up on a backdrop with painted leaves and gold leaves from the kit. All-in-all, I think the elements are luxurious and rich. Here’s a closer look at my card:

All of these elements are mounted on a Copper Clay card base, which ties with the color of the large pumpkin at the center of the card. If you love the mix of Gold, Lost Lagoon and Copper Clay as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:

Sending Cheer

The kit includes several options for leaves and flowers, but one of the leaf images looked a lot like grape leaves to me. To give these leaves a new look, I reached for the Bottled Happiness stamp set and coordinating Vintage Bottle Punch to create this sweet, congratulations card:

I cropped a 3-1/8″ x 4-3/8″ panel from one of the bags in the kit for the base of the focal panel – doesn’t the rustic texture on the panel pair well with the wine theme?! I mounted that on a 6-1/2″ x 4-1/2″ (scored at 3-1/4″) piece of Thick Basic White card stock and added that card to a piece of Pecan Pie cut at 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ to tie-in with the cork on the bottle. I stamped the bottle with Orchid Oasis ink and framed it with Starry Sky ink. The label on the front of the bottle is stamped with Lemon Lolly ink and hand snipped. I added three 2022-2024 In Color Pearls for a little shine.
