Yesterday I shared some photos from our Caribbean cruise with Mom – I shared some fun photos of us around the boat (mostly playing cards) and the card we made during the ship-hosted card class. If you missed that post, you can see it here.
While we were packing for the trip, I tossed a few kits into our suitcases so Mom and I could spend some time crafting on our vacation. Mom loves the kits (and has become my spokesperson for kits), and I knew we’d have everything we needed to complete them. So easy! It also helps that the kits are up to 30% off this month.
Today I’m sharing pictures from two of the kits we completed on the cruise, along with some helpful pointers for each.
Christmas Wishes
The Christmas Wishes Card Kit includes eight cards (four each of two designs) – and both designs result in beautiful finished projects. Here’s a look at this card kit:
Like many kits, the elements on the kit must be punched out of a sheet of similar designs – so easy. There were a lot of elements in this kit, so I hired a local lady to help me punch them all out while I planned the rest of the steps in the kit:
While she punched out all the floral patterns to be used on the cards, I stamped off the sentiments with the Pretty Peacock Stampin’ Spot and clear block that were included with the kit. I thought it was easier to stamp the sentiments before they were punched out.
I didn’t think there was a lot of stamping in this kit – I knew I’d stamp the sentiments for the inside and outside of the cards, but I thought that was it. I was wrong! Each of the floral designs needed to be stamped with the coordinating leaf stamps. I thought about NOT stamping the leaf designs (there are a lot of leaves), but they really added something special to the finished projects.
Here’s a look at the insert that coordinates with the stamp set – such a great variety of sentiments. You can see both of the leaf designs here, too.
Can we please take a moment to admire the envelopes that coordinate with the cards in this kit?! The kit includes a sticker for the front of each envelope, making it easy to add the names and addresses for your recipients.
Here’s a look at the finished projects after we had punched, stamped and assembled all of the cards:
Card Keeper Kit
The Card Keeper Kit is another popular kit that offers a variety of cards for many occasions. The kit is designed with TEN cards (five each of two designs) and a cool to organize them in.
I hired the same lady who helped me with the Christmas Wishes Kit to organize all of the pieces in the Card Keeper Kit cards – she was really cooperative and helpful.
This kit does not include any stamped elements, and the designs were very simple and easy to assemble. We didn’t assemble the coordinating box (only because it would be harder to transport back home). Here’s a look at our finished projects (along with the incomplete box):
Such a cute kit, don’t you think?! Such beautiful colors and designs!
Mom would ask me to remind you that the Kits Collection products are on sale this month – up to 30% off. If you’d like to flip through the available (and on sale) kits, CLICK HERE.

Such a lovely model!
Love that you made cards with your mom during your cruise. Aunt Charlene and I did the same thing a couple of years ago on a cruise in South Africa!
Brian…thank you so much for sharing your pictures of you and your mom on your cruise. What precious memories.
So wise of you to “hire” such an expert crafter to assist you! We love Miss Mary~any chance of some additional “spoke person” videos featuring your assistant?? 🥰
Your lovely assistant did a great job of showcasing these beautiful kits. The first one looks much more elegant in your photos than the online pictures. Enjoy your day!
I think your helper is a keeper! She is so photogenic! You are fortunate to have each other! You will always remember these special times!
We are so lucky to see Miss Mary 2 days in a row! Looks like you had a blast!
