Thinking of You with Stampin’ Up!’s Sunflower 3D Embossing Folder

I recently had a utility sink installed in the basement, so I don’t have to lug ink-covered shammies, clear blocks, decorative masks and embossing folders upstairs when they need to be cleaned. What fun! Since the water was turned on to the sink, I’ve been excited about the moment when I would fist be able to ink up an embossing folder without a huge mess. Today I’m sharing a project I made with this old favorite technique.

The Sunflower 3D Embossing Folder deserves a suite of its own, but it also doesn’t need one. The embossing folders is gorgeous enough to carry an entire card with so many great ways to showcase it. Here’s a card I made with the Sunflower 3D Embossing Folder:

The embossing folder is gorgeous without ink, but you can also add ink before or after the cardstock is embossed. I added ink before AND after embossing. Here’s a look at this incredible 3D Embossing Folder:

Sunflower 3D Embossing Folder, Stampin' Up!, 166145I swiped the inside of my Sunflower 3D Embossing Folder (the side with the Stampin’ Up! logo) with Pecan Pie ink and added a piece of 3-1/2″ x 4-3/4″ piece of Thick Basic White cardstock before running it through my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. The effect is gorgeous! After the rustically inked image dried, I painted the flowers, leave and flower centers with Stampin’ Blends (Darling Duckling, Old Olive and Crumb Cake). Here’s a closer look at the texture created on my card:

Sunflower 3D Embossing Folder, Stampin' Up!, Brian KingI framed the sunflower-filled panel with Basic White and Early Espresso cardstock and mounted it on a Darling Duckling card base. The sentiment on my card is stamped with the Sentimental Framing stamp set on the largest circle from the Stylish Shapes circles dies. Here’s a look at this incredible, new bundle:

Sentimental Framing Bundle, Stampin' Up! 165477I added a trio of Darling Duckling flat pearls from the 2025-2027 In Color Flat Pearls. They blend into the card in the photos above, but the gems add a visible shine to the other-wise flat card design.

Stamps: Sentimental Framing  Papers: Darling Duckling, Early Espresso, Thick Basic White, Basic White  Inks: Pecan Pie, Early Espresso, Stampin’ Blends (Darling Duckling, Old Olive, Crumb Cake, Color Lifter)  Accessories: Sunflower 3D Embossing Folder, Stylish Shapes Dies, 2025-2027 In Color Flat Pearls (Darling Duckling), Stampin’ Dimensionals
