Be Inspired Blog Hop – a Bright & Bold Christmas Card

It’s time for another Be Inspired Design Team Blog Hop—what fun! The Be Inspired Design Team is a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from all over the world who share themed projects each month. I’m so honored to be part of this talented group of stampers! Be Inspired Logo

For today’s hop, our theme is Bright & Bold Colors. Oh, how I love a color challenge! I reached for a super-fun pack of papers and paired it with a soon-to-be-released Christmas set to create today’s cheerful holiday card. Thanks so much for hopping by—I know you’re going to love what the others share, too!

MERRY & BRIGHT … AND A LITTLE SQUATTY

When I flipped through all of my Designer Series Papers to find the perfect pages for this Bright & Bold challenge, I landed on my Turtle-y Cute Designer Series Papers and knew I had found my inspiration. The colors (Poppy Parade, Flirty Flamingo, Pool Party, and Darling Duckling) may be perfect for turtle-themed celebrations, but they’re also fabulous for a bright and bold Christmas card. Here’s my finished project:

Festive Friends Bundle, Seasonal Tags, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, bright and bold Christmas card I have to start with the paper at the heart of this design. Here’s a look at the many colors and fun patterns in the Turtle-y Cute Designer Series Paper:

Turtle-y Cute Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up! 165221I love to play with the patterns in the Designer Series Papers I love. The diagonal lines in the pattern I used for my background are already so fun, but I cut into the paper to reimagine the page with horizontal lines. Such an easy way to give the design a whole new look without much effort. For an extra pop of pattern (and a little nod to a snow globe), I cropped the circles paper with the largest circle in the Stylish Shapes Dies. Isn’t that fun?

Back to my snowman… I stamped this squatty, adorable snowman with the Festive Friends Bundle (coming September 3 as part of the Online Exclusives launch). His scarf and hat are colored with Poppy Parade and Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends—so bright and fun! I also cropped the little Christmas tree from the coordinating dies in this bundle. Here’s a look at the full set:

Festive Friends Bundle, Stampin' Up! 166039One more thing…to honor my love for the squatty snowman in the Festive Friends Stamp Set, I trimmed ¾” off both the top and bottom of my card base. The result? A card front that’s a little squatty, too! I was so happy with that update and couldn’t not share it with you. The sentiment—one I know I’ll reach for a lot this holiday season—is from the Seasonal Tags Stamp Set. To finish things off, I added a trio of pearl adhesive-backed berries for a simple, festive touch.
