Yesterday I shared a quilt-inspired card made with the envelopes from September’s Fall for Toile Paper Pumpkin kit. If you missed that project, you can see it here.
Today I’m back with another version of that same design – this time using a completely different set of papers. Instead of the envelope flaps from the Paper Pumpkin kit, I’ve cut twelve 1″ squares from a favorite Designer Series Paper to build a beautiful design. Here’s my card:
How gorgeous are those papers?! The colors are lovely, and the patterns work so seamlessly together. All twelve of these squares (and the coordinating background panel) are pulled from the Floral Charm Designer Series Paper. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in this pack of papers:
While Petal Pink isn’t listed as one of the colors in the Floral Charm Designer Series Paper, it definitely makes an appearance in the first pattern shown. Perhaps it’s just a watered-down shade on the Timid Tiger flowers, but I couldn’t resist highlighting it. I added my sentiment on a 1-3/4″ circle of Petal Pink cardstock, and I love the soft contrast it creates with the darker, richer tones of the card. Here’s a closer look:
To finish my design, I accented with Petal Pink Charming Shimmer Faceted Dots. The sentiment and leafy elements are pulled from the Charming Day stamp set and coordinating dies – a brilliant bundle! Here’s a look:
I often look to Stampin’ Up!’s Designer Series Papers for color inspiration, and I love the mix of shades in this one. If you enjoy the combination of Petal Pink, Pretty Peacock and Mossy Meadow as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this palette for future inspiration:
Love this card or the color combo? Be sure to pin it to your Pinterest boards so you can find it again later!
What papers (or hand-stamped designs) can you use to build a card base with 1″ squares? It’s so easy – and I’d love for you to give it a shot!
Bundles: Charming Day Bundle Stamps: Charming Day Papers: Floral Charm Designer Series Paper, Mossy Meadow, Petal Pink, Basic White Inks: Mossy Meadow Accessories: Charming Day Dies, 1-3/4″ Circle Punch, Charming Shimmer Faceted Dots, Stampin’ Dimensionals

Gorgeous DSP (and card) indeed!
Thanks, Mary! ♥ I love, love, love these papers.
Great design. I like the pop of Petal Pink and the way the die cut anchors it.
Thanks, Vicki! On the call, you said, “Oooh! Try that with Floral Charm.” and I did. Thanks for the push! ♥
Lovely card! Everything put together so perfectly!
Thanks, my friend! ♥
Such a “charming” card 😊 I admit I don’t think of using squares when I want to use up scraps, but it’s a great idea. I love the colors here and now I have a reason to use up paper. Beautiful!
Thanks, Bobbi! It takes a little patience to line up the tiny squares, but it was well worth it. ♥
I love the Petal Pink for the sentiment, and the quilt pattern makes a very pretty card. Enjoy your day, my friend!
Thanks, Hilda! I was going to go with a Mossy Meadow circle, but I thought that would be too dark. Happy with how the pink played with the other colors. Glad you like it! ♥
Great use of the papers
