Sending Joy with North Pole Delivery Specialty Designer Series Paper

Since the moment I was first introduced to Stampin’ Up!’s Holiday Mini Catalog, I’ve been excited to play with the adorable cars in one page of the North Pole Delivery Specialty Designer Series Paper. I adore the artwork of these Christmastime shoppers and partygoers in their trucks, buses and cars. It wasn’t until I sat down to make this card that I realized the festive drivers are foxes, squirrels, dogs and bunnies. Extra points – that makes them even cuter!

Here’s a card I made to showcase this adorable page of the North Pole Delivery Specialty Designer Series Paper:

I often play with a slant on my cards, but this one was inspired by a sketch from the World Card Making Day call last weekend. Karen and Melody made a fun project with this sketch:

I was going to cut my page into squares to showcase on the card front, but I didn’t like how disjointed the images looked, so I adapted the layout into a single band instead.

The Garden Green background panel on my card is not from the North Pole Delivery Specialty pack (but it sure does coordinate with it!). This page is pulled from the Floral Impressions Designer Series Paper. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in that pack:

The sentiment on my card is pulled from the Calm & Bright Kit that was released on October 1 (and was featured in this card on Tuesday). Here’s a closer look at the fun saying (and perfect for this card) that’s heat embossed on a 1-1/2″ square of Poppy Parade cardstock:

Tip: When evaluating kits, be sure to take a look at the coordinating stamp set (when one exists). Some are really, really great! Here’s a look at this sweet kit that makes nine soft and sweet (…errr…calm and bright) cards:

The colors on my card are pulled from the North Pole Delivery Specialty Designer Series Paper page I selected for my project. If you love this mix of Pool Party, Poppy Parade and Garden Green as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:

I added a trio of Poppy Parade Dear Dots around my sentiment to accent the bright red. They are a bit hidden in the Designer Series Paper (because your eye really wants to check out the holiday party goers. 🙂
