Christmas Cheer with the Joyful Days Memories & More Cards

Before I left for Stampin’ Up!’s Leadership and my extended vacation in Las Vegas, I designed all of the projects for my upcoming classes with the Joyful Days Memories & More Cards and even packed half of the projects. Upon my return, I packed the remaining kits and delivered everything to the post office well ahead of the online calls. For weeks now, I’ve been living in these gorgeous Memories & More cards and loving every minute of it.

While the card I’m sharing today showcases two cards from the Joyful Days Memories & More Cards, this is not one of the cards I designed for the class. Here’s the card I made to share with you today:

Here’s a look at some of the Joyful Days Memories & More cards in the pack:

They’ll be back in stock next week (the week of November 24). When you go to the product in the online store, you can simply add your email address to receive a notice when they’re available again. Yay!

The Striped Foundation

I’m going to walk you through the layers of my card, but I want to start with the striped 3-3/4″ x 5″ panel that provides the foundation for the beautiful cards. I cut 1/2″ strips of Cherry Cobbler Two-Tone Cardstock to build this striped background. As the name suggests, the Two-Tone Cardstock features two tones of Cherry Cobbler on either side of the 12″ x 12″ page – one is darker and one is lighter. Here’s a closer look:

The stripes create a lovely backdrop that doesn’t take away from the beauty of the other layers on the card. In a post earlier this year, I shared five fun ways to showcase the Two-Tone Cardstocks (building stripes is one of the techniques). Beautiful Layers

I added a 3″ x 4″ Memories & More card with a wreath, then layered a sentiment I cut from the center of another Memories & More card. I love how these pieces work together. Each layer is framed with a thin border of Mossy Meadow cardstock, and I added an extra layer of Cherry Cobbler behind the sentiment so it would stand out against the panel beneath it. Here’s a closer look:

Oh! Did you see it?! Before adding the sentiment, I folded a band of Gold Striped 3/8″ Mesh Ribbon to introduce a touch of gold (and a little shine) to my project. Such a lovely addition!

Final Thoughts

These Joyful Days Memories & More Cards offer so many beautiful options for quick, layered, meaningful cards. Even though today’s project isn’t part of my upcoming class, it certainly showcases how easily these cards can come together with a few thoughtful layers and textures. I can’t wait for these cards to be back in stock next week so you can enjoy them as much as I have.

  7. Brian this is stunning and a real treat for my eyes. Wow! What a great idea to use two toned cardstock. I’ve yet to use what I bought, but I sure will give this a try. Hugs! ❤️

  8. You KNOW you had me with the (8!!) layers, but the 2-tone base? Perfection!

  9. I didn’t even think of this as highly-layered, so I was surprised by your statement that there are 8 layers. Of course I then counted. Wrong, Linda! 🙂 There are actually 9 layers because the stripes are glued to a piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock. Thanks for your kind comments – always love to hear from you! ♥

  10. Just saw this today. This card is absolutely gorgeous! The combination of pattered papers and colors is so elegant! I can’t wait to see the kit for the card class you are doing with this. You classes and kits are always cards I am proud to send to family and friends. Not to mention I love what I learn doing these kits.
