My Festive Friends Christmas Card

You know how much I’ve loved the Festive Friends characters from the Christmas-themed Online Exclusives launch this year. The squatty little figures are adorable and (as the name suggests) festive. On Monday, I shared the wreath of elves I made with one of the cuties in this set (if you missed it, you can see that here). It only made sense that I would reach for this bundle when it came time to make my Christmas cards this year, right?!

My Christmas Cards

Here’s a look at the Christmas cards I mailed out this year – one snowman, one Santa, and one elf:

To start, here’s a look at the Festive Friends Bundle. At the moment, both the stamp set and dies are on the naughty list (aka “unavailable”), with a TBD restock date:

I stamped each of the characters with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored them with a mix of Stampin’ Blends, but the real story is in the foundation of each card:

  • Each card starts with a Basic White notecard. Here’s my hot take on notecards – a small card stands out in a sea of standard-sized cards. And just because it’s smaller doesn’t mean it’s simpler or made with less care. ♥
  • Behind each character is a Pool Party panel created with Pool Party Two-Tone Cardstock. I used a 4-1/2″ x 3″ panel from the lighter side of the paper and a 4-1/2″ x 1″ panel from the darker side for a subtle bit of contrast.
  • The stumpy Christmas tree was cropped with the Festive Friends Dies from Shy Shamrock cardstock and finished with a trio of rhinestones for just the right amount of sparkle. Each character and tree is mounted on a 2-1/2″ circle cut with the Stylish Shapes Dies.
  • I mounted each of the characters and trees on a 2-1/2″ circle from the Stylish Shapes Dies.
  • The sentiment is stamped with the word “MERRY” from the Seasonal Tags stamp set.
  • And here’s something worth noting – there are no Stampin’ Dimensionals on these cards. That’s rare for me, so it definitely deserves a mention.

When I make multiples of a project, I like to line them up on my craft table and grab an infinity shot of all the cards together. Here’s a look at these three all lined up:

I wasn’t able to send a card to everyone I love and everyone I appreciate. If you were expecting one that didn’t arrive, I’m confident it was lost in the mail. And if you didn’t receive one of my cards this year, please know that it doesn’t mean you aren’t important to me.

Final Thoughts

I hope your Christmas is wonderful. We celebrated with some family this past weekend and will celebrate with more family today. That means I get to sleep in on Christmas morning. What a dream!

  1. Woo hoo! I recognize that sweet little card!

  2. Merry Christmas Eve Brian ,
I also recognize the cute festive friends!
I must be on the “naughty list “ cause I’m waiting for the email that the bundle is back in stock! I didn’t think I needed it until I saw multiple designs of cards and tags, etc! So much potential for a cute little set with different tree options too!
Enjoy your celebration 🎉 with family and sleeping in!

    • The dies are available, but the stamp set it on a TBD basis. My guess is it won’t be long. I hope you are able to pick it up when it’s back in stock because it’s a cutie! I couldn’t believe how many times I used it (but it also makes sense). 🙂

  3. Brian, very cute card! Also, I love your idea of a smaller card standing out from the rest, and wouldn’t the smaller ones have to be put in the front . . . LOL
    Have a Merry Christmas!

    • I hadn’t thought about making it to the front – I’ve always been in the back row for pictures – but I love that train of thought. Thanks, Katrina!

  4. Love seeing the cards all spread out. Looks like a sheet of wrapping paper!
    So fun! Happy Holidays !

  5. Your infinity pictures are always amazing. Love this little card. Merry Christmas to you! Enjoy Christmas Eve.

  6. Love these Christmas cards, Brian! I bought the set & haven’t used it. Thanks for the inspiration. I can make January birthday cards. Merry Christmas!

  7. Totally adorbs, Brian. I love the infinity shot as well – so much cheer. Happy Christmas!

  8. Darling little cards! I have to say again, the Santa reminds me of you with the beard. Have a Merry Christmas!

  9. These are all so cute, but that snowman stole my heart! But it would make adorable wrapping paper, as Barbara said!
Have a very Merry Christmas, Brian.
