Happy New Year! Did you stay up to watch the ball drop – or the lobster, peach, or sparkly flip-flop? Whether you were out celebrating when the clock struck midnight or already tucked into bed, I have a sneaky suspicion you might be a little sleepy today. π
The past week has been dedicated to todayβs turn of the calendar. On Tuesday, I shared a super-cool black-and-white New Yearβs card – very formal and dressed up for the occasion. To see that card, CLICK HERE. Yesterday, I gave you a closer look at the story behind five of my favorite projects from the past year. To see that post, CLICK HERE.
Today, Iβm sharing another New Year’s card – a more casual design featuring a stamp set that will be available when the new catalog launches on January 6.
Hereβs the New Year’s card I made to share with you today:
My card features a sentiment from the Reason to Celebrate stamp set (available January 6) paired with a disco ball from the Time for Celebration Mix & Match Ephemera Pack. How perfect is a disco ball for a New Yearβs celebration?! If you have this ephemera pack on hand, you might want to whip up a quick New Yearβs card before the season officially slips away. π
Hereβs a look at the Time for Celebration Mix & Match Ephemera Pack:
And hereβs the Reason to Celebrate stamp set, which is absolutely filled to the brim with amazing, all-season sentiments:
Here’s a closer look at the sentiment I built on my card:
This card was heavily inspired by one of Stampinβ Up!βs sample cards created to support the new stamp set. I stamped the sentiment across the disco ball and again on the Timid Tiger band, then positioned the two pieces so they look seamless on the card front.
The sample in the online store keeps things simple with one or two layers. I planned to do the same⦠but then added a white frame, followed by a Pool Party frame, and finally a frame of Secret Sea. As usual, I layered and layered and layered until it felt just right.
To finish things off, I accented the card with five shiny Secret Sea dots from the 2025-2027 In Color Flat Pearls. Such a fun and festive way to start the year!
Final Thoughts
Whether your New Yearβs celebration was big and sparkly or quiet and cozy, I hope 2026 is off to a great start for you. This card felt like the perfect mix of casual and celebratory – and a fun reminder that itβs never too late to send a little happy mail to ring in a new year.

I sure didn’t make it until the ball drop. Happy New Year and love the “worldly” card!
I had no misconception about you celebrating at midnight. π Hope your day was great! Happy New Year, Mary!
Happy New Year Brian! I stayed up late watching movies, but missed the ball drop. Thanks for capturing it in a card.
So happy I could recreate the joy for you. I was reading a book when the ball actually dropped – and then I went to bed. β₯ Happy New Year!
Hi Brian
I missed the ball drop in New York but woke up to ring in the New Year in CST and quickly fell back asleep!
I love how to combined products to create a great card! I bought that emphera pack but the stamp set is on my wish list! Thanks for giving me another reason to get that stamp set! lol π
Happy 2026!
Happy 2026, Dawn! I think “from bed” or “on the couch” is the perfect way to ring in the new year. Hope it’s a great year for you!
A very Happy New Year to you Brian and everyone. Your card today brings
A shine and smile to all! A great beginning to a new year!
Thanks, Barbara! It was a fun card to pull together – so glad you like it. β₯ Hope your 2026 is off to a great start!
Cute card!
Thanks, my friend! Would love to chat with you sometime soon. β₯
Cool card! And a stamp set I have on my radar. Didn’t see that ephemera pack. π Happy New Year! π
All the best to you, Bobbi! The stamp set is so versatile – I hadn’t even seen the smaller, coordinating sayings until I inked up this set. They are perfect accents or inside sayings. Happy New Year! β₯
Love the layers!! (You know me; thatβs my weakness!)
Brilliant job stamping and positioning the sentiment, too. Another BK signature move.
Hereβs hoping 2026 holds nothing but absolute happiness for you and Jeremiah and your families. Thank you for always bringing a smile to our faces (and hearts).
Happy New Year π
I adore you, Linda! Thank you so much! I DO like that stamping technique – had fun with it. Wishing you and your family all the best, too! β₯
Happy New Year! This card must have had you giddy with all the layers! And the colors are so fun! 2026 for the win!
I truly set out to make a simple card (like the Stampin’ Up! sample in the online store), but I couldn’t help but to add more and more layers. I. Couldn’t. Help. Myself. π Thanks, Cindie! β₯
