Yesterday I shared a patchwork card I made with the Made to Love Designer Series Paper (you can see it here). I was so happy with how that card turned out that I decided to make another – and this time, I’m sharing the measurements for every piece on the card. Today’s project is a super-sweet birthday card made with the Beach Boardwalk Designer Series Paper, using the same patchwork design I shared yesterday as my guide.
Here’s my card:
When I first set out to make this card, I envisioned using all of the palm tree designs in the pack of papers. But once I started flipping through the pack, I was completely taken by how beautiful the softer patterns are. The repeating design I chose gave me four coordinating patterns to showcase on the card – perfect for a birthday – and they’re offset with two cheerful yellow panels, two ticket pieces, and a big bouquet of balloons. What fun!
Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Beach Boardwalk Designer Series Paper:
I snipped the balloons from the page with the carousels and the tickets from the third page on the first line above. So easy! What wasn’t quite as easy was carefully snipping out the delicate sentiment from the Fabulous Sayings stamp set. Still, I persisted because I knew exactly what I wanted from the set. Patience and time – I had plenty.
Here’s a closer look at the focal sentiment on my card:
The Fabulous Sayings stamp set is this month’s Product of the Month. When you place a $75 order in January, you can select this INCREDIBLE, must-have stamp set for just $5. The good news? It will automatically appear as an option and reminder in your online cart during checkout.

Measurements Guide
A little background – I’ve seen several patchwork designs over the past few months. I Googled the technique and found some great examples, but I wanted to play with my own measurements. So I put my math skills to work and created my own template. It was a challenge, but one I was happy to accept.
Did you notice that today’s card isn’t exactly like yesterday’s? All of the pieces are the same size, but I rearranged them to move the sentiment to the right side and mirrored the corresponding pieces. I had a feeling you’d notice – and that I wouldn’t have to point it out. ♥
As promised, I created a graphic to share the measurements for the patchwork design I’ve been using. Here’s a look at the measurements from yesterday’s card:
Point of clarity – in my detailed measurements, I list the height of each piece first, followed by the width.
Last Thoughts
Patchwork designs are such a fun way to showcase patterned paper, and I love how versatile this layout is. By simply rearranging the pieces, you can create a completely different look while using the exact same measurements. I hope this guide makes it easy for you to try your own version of this design and put those beautiful Designer Series Papers to work.

Sweet as cotton candy! Love the patchwork design and the colors are so soft and pretty!
Aren’t they sweet, Linda?! I thought I would showcase the trees, but I was so in love with these pastels. Thanks! Glad you like it. ♥
Ooooh love it! I’m thinking of all sorts of DSP that would shine with this layout.
I 100% agree – it was easy to make two and could have easily made 100. Thanks, Vicki!
Nailed it! That fussy cut sentiment is just perfect. Another never could I ever!
I was nervous to show a close-up, Cindie, because it was tough. Turned out better than I thought. 🙂 Thanks!
Oh my gosh! Wouldn’t this be perfect to enclose tickets for theater, etc!
A winner Brian!
Wouldn’t it?! There are a lot of tickets in the design of the paper – such a fun idea! Thanks, Barbara!
