The Square Snippets Designer Series Papers are filled to the brim with gorgeous patterns and colors – all squares. But that doesn’t mean you’re limited to square shapes when you play with these papers.
Here’s a card I made using the Square Snippets Designer Series Paper – and there isn’t a square in sight!
Instead of focusing on the individual square patterns on the page with 4″ x 4″ squares, I cut the paper into panels so the patterns meet at a single point. This approach highlights several designs at once and creates movement and interest across the card front.
Here’s a look at the designs and colors on the page of paper I used to create this card. You can see how beautifully the patterns work together, especially when they’re allowed to shine beyond their original square format.
There are so many ways to make this paper stand out, but I especially love this mix of patterns from the lower right corner of the sheet. The colors and textures feel coordinated while still offering plenty of contrast. To soften where the patterns meet, I layered in the gorgeous leaves from the Nature’s Symphony Dies. I die cut the leaves twice from Pool Party Two-Tone Cardstock – once from the lighter side and once from the darker side – for added depth and dimension. I also framed the focal panels with a thin layer of the lighter side of the same cardstock to help anchor the design.
The Nature’s Symphony Bundle includes incredible stamped images and sentiments, and the dies are absolute must-haves. They add such elegance and texture, making them perfect for cards like this one where the paper does most of the talking.
Here’s a look at the Nature’s Symphony Bundle:
The sweet sentiment comes from the Sweet Symphony Bundle. I stamped it in Pretty Peacock ink and cropped it with the Labeled with Love Punch. That pop of deeper color ties everything together beautifully.
Here’s a closer look:
Did you notice the Pretty Peacock dots? They actually started as Pool Party Dear Dots, but they blended into the background a little too much. I carefully removed them using a slow, swirling motion, colored them with Pretty Peacock Stampin’ Blends, and then placed them back on the card. It’s a small detail, but it makes such a difference.

Designer Series Papers are meant to be played with, not boxed into their original shapes. Cutting beyond the obvious can open up entirely new design possibilities and help you see your papers in a fresh way. If you’ve been eyeing the Square Snippets DSP and wondering how to stretch its versatility, this is a fun place to start.

Hi Brian
Thanks for creating a great card! I love how Nature’s Symphony is such a versatile set/dies bundle and how you showcased that! The square snippets DSP was not part of my initial orders but it’s been added to my favorite list thanks to you using it on several cards.
I just used the same leaf die on one of the sympathy cards I just finished and was very pleased with the results.
Thanks for sharing your creative ideas!
Natures Symphony is absolutely gorgeous. I 100% agree. So glad you like my card, Dawn. Thanks!
Another beautiful card from this pack. Love it and the Nature’s Symphony bundle. Enjoy your day!
Thanks, my friend! I’ve really had fun with these papers. Perhaps it’s time to move on to other products. 😜
Using the Two Tone cardstock for layers is a sleeper of an idea….and so brilliant! And dying those dots? Perfection.
Awww… thanks Cindie! I had fun with this one. So glad you like it.
