I know, I know. Spring isn’t officially here yet, but that doesn’t mean it has to be cold and icy in the Fungeon. I reached for cheery flowers and bright, happy colors to create a super-sweet card using the Pop-Up Petals Bundle and a mix of gorgeous patterned papers.
Here’s my decidedly not-winter card to share with you today:
The Pop-Up Petals Bundle arrived last year during an Online Exclusives launch. I was immediately intrigued by the pretty flowers and butterflies, but at the time we were deep into Thanksgiving and Christmas crafting. Now that the calendar has flipped, it feels like the perfect moment to finally start playing with this bundle.
The bundle is designed with a fun pop-up feature for the inside of the card. Today I’m only sharing the elements on the outside, but that doesn’t mean I’m done with it yet. I definitely have plans to come back and show off the interactive details soon. Here’s a look at the Pop-Up Petals Bundle:
The flowers are stamped with Secret Sea ink. The centers are colored with a Mix of Darling Duckling Stampin’ Blends, and the petals are colored with a mix of Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends (and, boy!, those lighter petals are really, really light). The leaves are colored with a Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blend. Adorable, right?
Here’s a closer look at the flowers:
The flowers are showcased on three layers pulled from two Designer Series Paper packs released this month. The rich background pattern comes from the Lovely Blossoms Designer Series Paper, which features classic designs and a beautiful color palette. Here’s a look at all the colors and patterns in this pack:
The Daffodil Delight and Strawberry Slush layers are pulled from the Mixed Up Patterns Designer Series Paper in the Spring Mini Catalog. These two colors together are so bright and cheerful – they practically scream spring. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Mixed Up Patterns Designer Series Paper:
I stamped the sentiment – and this is a really good one – directly onto the Designer Series Paper using Secret Sea ink. Here’s a closer look:
It’s always fun to stamp right on Designer Series Paper. 🙂 To finish the card, I added two Strawberry Slush butterflies from the Pop-Up Petals Bundle and three Strawberry Slush 2025-2027 In Color Flat Pearls for just the right touch of shine.
Last Thoughts
This card was such a joy to make and a nice reminder that we don’t have to wait for the weather to cooperate before crafting for spring. Bright colors, cheerful patterns, and happy florals are always in season in my craft room. If you’ve been eyeing the Pop-Up Petals Bundle, now is a great time to pull it out and give it some love.
