Y’all!!! I made time to play with my new Stampin’ Hot Foil System last night, and I couldn’t be happier. Not only was it fun to create with this new machine, but the results brought me so much joy! It reminded me of that old saying about enjoying both the destination and the journey. The finished card is beautiful, but the process of creating it was every bit as rewarding.
Here’s the card I made with the new Stampin’ Hot Foil System, which will be available beginning Friday:
I had to hold this card at a funny angle so you could catch some of that incredible foiled shine. As beautiful as it looks in this photo, it still doesn’t do it justice. This is one of those techniques that simply has to be seen in person to be fully appreciated. ♥
The Stampin’ Hot Foil System goes on sale at midnight on Friday, and Stampin’ Up! expects many of these products to sell out quickly. If you’ve been waiting to get your hands on this exciting new system, you may want to set an alarm so you can shop as soon as it’s available. I have a feeling these won’t stay in stock for long!
In yesterday’s post, I introduced the new Stampin’ Hot Foil System and shared some of my favorite coordinating products. If you missed it, be sure to check it out here before you shop.
Here’s what comes with your Stampin’ Hot Foil System:
The included instructions were clear, well organized and easy to follow. The step-by-step walkthrough gave me everything I needed to create my very first hot foiled project. What it couldn’t prepare me for was just how easy – and how much fun – the whole experience would be. ♥
The striking background on today’s card was created by hot foiling silver foil onto Secret Sea cardstock. I used the beautiful Garden Silhouette Hot Foil Die to create this elegant design.
For the greeting, I hot foiled silver foil onto Cloud Cover cardstock using the Classic Greetings Hot Foil Dies. This versatile set includes coordinating cutting dies, making it easy to foil your sentiment and then cut it out perfectly for your projects.
Here’s a closer look at the incredible shine and detail of the finished sentiment and foiled background:
As if all the hot foil shine wasn’t enough, I added a thin border of Silver Foil paper around the focal panel and a trio of silver gems from the Adhesive-Backed Metallic Gems.
If you love the mix of colors in this card, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:
Last Thoughts
After making my very first hot foiled card, I can already tell this system is going to become a favorite in my craft room. It adds an elegant shine that’s difficult to capture in photos but absolutely stunning in person. I can’t wait to experiment with different foil colors, cardstock combinations and designs over the coming weeks. If you’ve been curious about hot foiling, I think you’re going to love what this new system can do.
