Crisp Vintage Leaves for PPA268

This week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge gave me the opportunity to combine several items that have been sitting on my “need to do this” and “need to use this” lists for quite some time.  This week’s square sketch (although the final project doesn’t have to be square) gave me the perfect foundation and inspiration I needed to make this 5″ x 5″ card: And here’s the banner for the challenge that inspired my card:…

Three Things I Like: Candy’s Candy Treat Box

Last week I popped over to Candy Ford’s house and interrupted one of her monthly club meetings.  What fun!  Candy is a super-talented member of my InKing Royalty team, and today I’m excited to share one of the handouts from her class with you.  At each place setting, Candy had set out a little box of treat.  But the candy wasn’t the best part of the treat – the box, itself, was quite a treat! …

Christmas Cheer for CYCI86

I love any opportunity to make a super-clean card that showcases one of the many beautiful pages of our Designer Series Papers.  This week’s Can You Case It sketch gave me a wonderful opportunity to showcase this Christmas tree page from Merry Moments Designer Series Paper.  Love it!  Here’s my card: And here’s the sketch for this week’s Can You Case It? sketch that inspired my card.  When you are done reading my blog post…

Sparkly Seasons for GDP002

Last week’s debut of the Global Design Project was absolutely amazing.  Not only were there fireworks, parade drums to accompany the around-the-world celebrations, but LOTS of talented paper crafters played along with the challenge.  What an amazing turnout!  As it so happens, the non-seasonal color combination of Smoky Slate, Pink Pirouette and So Saffron was quite the hit.  With all the participants, the gallery was filled with gorgeous, soft projects.  Kudos, all, and congratulations to…

Bear Hugs & Kisses: Revisited

During Wednesday’s Pal Blog Hop, I shared a Bear Hugs & Kisses card I made with several items in Stampin’ Up!’s 2015 Holiday Catalog.  In case you missed it, you can read the entire post here.  Here’s the card I shared with you during the hop: Here’s what you didn’t know earlier this week – once I glued down all the elements of this card, I was not happy with it.  The balance didn’t seem…

Celebrate the Season with FMS203

Sometimes a simple sketch can inspire the entire card in your mind’s eye.  The moment I saw Jen Mitchell’s super-clean design for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge, I knew immediately which images and colors I’d use to recreate this fun sketch.  I only made a few edits to my original concept – I’m talking about those changes in my post.  Let’s start with my card: And here’s Jen’s sketch that inspired my card: So,…

Sparkly Seasons for PPA267

This week’s Pals Paper Arts challenge feels like a bit of a curve-ball – and I absolutely love it!  Crushed Curry, Pool Party and Tangerine Tango – so bright and cheery.  I really, really wanted to make something with products from Stampin’ Up!’s 2015 Holiday Catalog, but what?  I was quite stubborn – kicking and screaming and pouting and … “I don’t know what to … OH!  I know!”  And here’s the card I made…
