While we can find inspiration in almost any form (layouts, themes, emotions or sentiments), color challenges are great ways to find inspiration for a project. Sometimes, though, a color challenge is exactly that – a challenge. Such is the case with this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge. This week the PPA Color Challenge consists of three colors I rarely, if ever, use: Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue and Marina Mist.

Tips, Tricks and Reminders:
- Sometimes a challenge is challenging. Boy, oh boy, I sat with these three colors for a long time before decided to pair these three stamp sets together in one beautiful formal thank you. Can you name all three before looking at the list below? I told myself I couldn’t complete this challenge, but I’m happy with the end result.
- Make it shine. I interrupt this blog post for a product placement ad. When I had stamped and colored and trimmed all the pieces to make this card, I needed a little something special to add dimension to the flower. Rather than add glitter to the flower, I simply stamped the image with the Illuminate Glimmer Watermark Stampin’ Pad. This pad was first offered in the Holiday Catalog but was carried over to the Spring Catalog. Look at what a difference this makes:
- En Francais. I have not idea what the French background stamp says (I took Spanish in school), but I have to believe it’s something beautiful and poetic that would fit nicely with these images. Anyway, I received the stamp in the mail this week and couldn’t wait to use it. I stamped it off once to get a partially faded image. It’s such a pretty stamp.

This is a really beautiful card. I like the way you use just one flower. I usually use multiple flowers and forget the simplicity and beauty of a single blossom. I think the yellow center is a nice addition to the blue and green of the challenge colors.

Pretty card ! And would you just know it …SU is retiring two of the colors . I agree that doing the challenge pushes you to use different colors than you regularly would .
