Sending Love with Love Notes Framelits Dies

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner.  Stampin’ Up!’s Sealed with Love bundle gives us all the goodies we need to make a fun Valentine’s Day card for those we love.  As I showed yesterday, you can make a sophisticated love note (see that card here), but you can also keep it fun.  With the addition of Bermuda Bay, you can make this bundle of heart-themed products perfect for a man or a woman.  I designed this card for my local stamp club – they had a lot of fun with it.  Here’s my card:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Love Notes Framelit Dies.  While there are lots of great dies in the Love Notes Framelit Dies (there are arrows and envelopes and fun hears, oh my!), this Edgelit of hearts is my favorite.  The die creates a fun border of hearts – but I covered over the left side of the hearts to create a half-heart border.  The hearts are still there, but the scallop leaves a great border.  Once the red panel was complete, I flipped the inside pieces with the tip of my paper snips to give them dimension.  I love these dies, and I love the effect of this Edgelit.Sealed with Love, Stampin' Up!, Brian King
  • Did You Know?  Please take another look at the picture above.  Do you know where I got that bold, fun heart that rests on the Bermuda Bay banner?  It’s simple.  I reached into my Sweet & Sassy Framelits Dies (the hearts Framelits) and found a die that perfectly cropped a heart from the page of Sending Love Designer Series Paper Stack (the second page featured below).  So that I could pop that heart up on the page, I cropped another heart from a piece of Thick Whisper White and glued the two together.  That way, my heart won’t arrive all wrinkled.  🙂 Sending Love Designer Series Paper Stack, Stampin' Up!, Brian King
  • Valentine’s Day Color Combination.  The brightness of the white in the background of this paper stack can make it hard to pair with Whisper White – the two colors are not the same.  To soften the white in the paper, you could sponge a light color into the paper (Soft Sky works beautifully).  On this card, I chose to not feature Whisper White cardstock on the front of my card.  My sentiment is stamped with Whisper White Craft Ink and heat embossed with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  The combination of Whisper White, Real Red and Bermuda Bay makes this card perfect for anyone.  If you like this combination, too, please save this:Stampin' Up!
